CWA San Luis Obispo County

CWA San Luis Obispo County California Women for Agriculture (CWA) was formed in 1975, in the Coachella Valley. With 20 chapters and 2,000 plus members across the state.

Our mission is to promote, protect and preserve agriculture in San Luis Obispo County through public relations, education, advocacy and leadership. The name was chosen to develop a cross section of members across our great state. In fact, the nucleus of the first chapter was made up of consumers, as well as farmers. Today our membership is as diverse as the industry we repre

sent; bankers, lawyers, accountants, marketing professionals, consumers, farmers and ranchers. Members are actively engaged in public relations, education and legislative advocacy on behalf of agriculture. Our mission is to promote and protect the agricultural industry, to promote and develop the interest of California women involved or interested in agriculture and to promote a strong agriculture industry in San Luis Obispo County. CWA's efforts are guided by 5 principle objectives: to speak on behalf of agriculture in an intelligent, informative, direct and truthful manner; to keep CWA members informed on legislative activities pertaining to agriculture; to join forces when the need arises to deal with agricultural issues and challenges; to improve the public image of farmers and; to develop a rapport with consumers, educators, and governmental & business leaders in communities throughout the county and outlying areas. SLO CWA plays an important role in being a part of the bigger ag picture in California Agriculture.

• CWA believes...that California agriculture is the fundamental cornerstone for our country's health and national security. Agriculture needs to be California's number one priority.

• CWA is committed...to maintaining a healthy and vibrant agricultural industry for California and our nation

• CWA is dedicated...to ensuring that a local, reliable and safe food supply continues to be available for future generations.

Here’s the info for our General Monthly Meeting! Swipe for a surprise… We’re so excited to welcome Dr. Nicole Nicholson and Apothecary Ranch!

Dr. Nicholson is a researcher, educational psychologist, fifth-generation cattle rancher, and current President of SLO County CattleWomen. Her unique perspective bridges agriculture, education, and leadership, making this a meeting you won’t want to miss.

Apothecary Ranch makes great beef tallow based skincare, like the chapsticks that were in the All Women’s Trail Ride and Dinner Fundraiser goodie bags! We’re so excited to have Alexandra at the meeting. Come by and support ! 💗

New people are always welcome! We look forward to seeing members, friends, and anyone interested in learning more about agriculture and our local community.

What an incredible first Annual All Women’s Trail Ride and Dinner Fundraiser in the books! 🤎 Because of the generosity and support of our members and the community, we were able to raise just over $3,600 dollars to go directly towards our youth scholarships and collegiate internship program! From the trail ride to dinner to hearing from industry members, we couldn’t be more grateful to have had such a successful first year!

With this in mind, we want YOUR feedback - if there is anything you think we could have done better, please let us know! There is a Google Form for your responses in the bio.
