Under the dim street lights on Nguyen Lan Street, Hanoi, late at night, the skinny dog ​​lies convulsing, gasping for breath, in the cold, dark night, numb with cold 🥹
Was she lying there because she was hungry, thirsty, or because someone took her away when she had a serious illness to "free her hands", to "clean up the house" and to "save money to treat a sick dog"? All of these cases are no longer strange to all of us.
It seems that the fate of any dog ​​or cat becomes fragile when life, happiness or suffering completely depends on the thread called responsibility and love, which seems to have been extremely fragile for a long time with old concepts, negative views and unimaginable cruelty. Thanks to the efforts of a kind man named Hai Dang, along with the efforts of the SNNC volunteers, the unfortunate dog was brought to the clinic at 134 Nguyen Lan with the hope that the doctors would save him, save his life, and then all the other good people would join hands to help him have a new, peaceful life for the rest of his life.
But first, he needed to overcome an extremely difficult journey with the initial examination results: convulsions, his body was exhausted, only skin and bones, showing signs of loss of balance, unable to walk, unable to stand, unable to eat by himself although he still had the swallowing reflex...
Not only him, but also many other dogs are in similar situations. These days, San is struggling to take care of dozens of seriously ill dogs, needing continuous treatment at the veterinary clinic and other hospitals. But the funds are exhausted, while each meal, each pill is a hope for their survival. Whether big or small, every heart shared is a fire of warmth and hope for the less fortunate:
📍 Veterinary costs, treatment, medicine, medical supplies.
📍 Food: Seeds, pate, rice, lean meat, fresh vegetables...
📍 Volunteers to help take care of the children.
📍 Especially, please open your heart to adopt or foster, so that they have a real home.
We cannot change the whole world, but we can change the world of a dog or cat in unfortunate circumstances.

Someone left a "heartfelt letter" with a few scribbled instructions on an old piece of paper, sounding responsible, with an old, ragged dog named "Kem", who was tied tightly to a tree on April 1, 2025 and then left!
She must have been attached to their family for too long if we talk about the average lifespan of a domestic dog, and of course, that family was the whole sky, the whole life of the poor dog!
It's just a pity that there was no April Fool's lie in this sad story, although no one else, the ChowChow dog, must have been hoping that it was just a joke from the owner or the owner? Or was it just a walk, temporarily tied up when she went to the toilet like it had happened many times in the past.... Then the familiar figure would return, would take her back.... Family!
She just sat there waiting, waiting... not knowing that above her head was a "farewell" letter, the last privilege her owner gave her with the instruction "Don't eat Kem", something that no one could be sure wouldn't happen, if she hadn't met kind people!
The yard has another member, and maybe, like many old, disabled or ferocious dogs who have completely lost faith in humans, SNNC will be the last home they have 😔
We don't know either, but all the rules, all the rationality are still relative, when there are not a single day without calls, text messages, and pitiful pictures sent to the yard 🥹

Last night, Mayor Rafferty and the Board of Aldermen assisted us in publicly recognizing Officer Hedgepeth and his commitment to our community's public safety. His leadership and decisive actions contributed to the de-escalation of a domestic incident involving a firearm earlier this month. Great job, Officer Hedgepeth!
