🌧️ Possible Flash Flooding Today 🌧️

We're resharing this important weather update as a reminder to stay weather-aware. Monsoon storms can change quickly, so avoid flooded roads and washes, and Turn Around, Don't Drown. Stay safe!

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening for Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, and Santa Cruz counties. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. The combination of ample moisture across southeast Arizona and an upper-level disturbance moving into the area from New Mexico today will result in widespread showers and thunderstorms, especially east and south of Tucson. These storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall, with localized rainfall amounts between 1 and 3 inches. Given how saturated soils are across the area from storms over the past week, there is an increased potential for rainfall runoff to produce flash flooding.
