Licking Heights Local Schools is the fourth fastest-growing district in Ohio. Located approximately 20 miles east of the state capital, the district consists of 5,000+ students. Ready for the future.”

Thanks to company expansions into the area, including Meta, Google, Amazon, and American Electric Power, we have an increasingly diverse student population that speaks more than 42 languages. We pro

vide a robust academic experience aimed at educating all young, inquiring minds. Our programming includes:
College prep courses
Advanced Placement (AP) classes
College Credit Plus (CCP) program
College and Career Pathways
Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and American Sign Language foreign language programs
Facebook/Meta-sponsored STEAM Lab
Self-contained gifted classrooms
Fine arts program
Various clubs, activities, and organizations such as Art Club, DECA, National Honor Society, Quiz Bowl, Student Council, Model UN, Chess Club, and Environmental Club
16 varsity high school sports and 10 competitive sports for middle school students

Many of our schools have been recognized by statewide organizations. Most recently, South Elementary was honored by the Ohio School Boards Association for a virtual career program. They have also been declared a Purple Star school for its commitment to serving and supporting military students and their families. West Elementary was presented a Bronze Award from the Ohio Department of Education for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

⚖️📖 LHMS Honors 9 ELA students brought "The Most Dangerous Game" to life with a mock trial! Taking on courtroom roles, students put their critical thinking, public speaking, active listening, argumentation, and textual evidence skills to the test as they defended their positions using evidence straight from the story.

Miss Buzza and Miss Seielstad’s kindergarten students at Everest learned all about their 5 senses as apart of module 1 of Wit & Wisdom! 👀 👂 👃

Students got to feel objects in a bag, listen to the sound of different objects, smell unlit candles, view different objects around the room, and taste different cereal!

🏠✨ The Sorting is complete! Summit Station welcomed its incoming 5th graders and new 6th graders into their school houses this Friday: Amistad, Altruismo, Isibindi, and Rêveur! Students met their new house families and spent the day diving into school culture and expectations.

Here's to a year of house pride, new friendships, and lots of fun ahead!

Salute to Service: a special Friday Night Lights event on Fri., Sept. 11 honoring our heroes! Join us as Licking Heights takes on Buckeye Valley in a night dedicated to celebrating our military and first responders.

🤍Military personnel (past or present) get in FREE with ID
🤍First responders get in FREE with ID, plus a free concession item voucher
🤍Our band will perform an Armed Forces salute
🤍USA theme for the student section and all spectators, wear your red, white, and blue!
🤍Coloring pages for our youngest fans
🤍T-shirts and rally towels available for purchase

Armed forces recruiters will also be on-site. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., kickoff at 7:00 p.m. Let's pack the stands and show our support!

🎺Once a Hornet, always a Hornet! Congratulations to Licking Heights graduates Isaac Gleim and River Wells on making The Ohio State University Marching Band as full members in their freshman year!

A special shoutout to our own Meg Beavers, a former member of the band herself, for mentoring Isaac and helping prepare him for this moment.

Congratulations, Isaac and River! We'll be watching every halftime show knowing Hornets are out there, representing Licking Heights on one of the biggest stages in college football. 🎶

Students explored decimals using real-life examples as they traveled from destination to destination. Before continuing their journey, they had to pass through Customs with Mrs. Allen to have their work checked and get their passport stamped! 📖
