River Ridge Welcome Aboard, Jarod Quigley
About Me: Born and raised in Wisconsin, I have always wanted to share my Midwest values by helping out wherever I can. I graduated from UW Milwaukee in 2024 with my BFA in instrumental and general music education. Since then I have taught middle school band and general music in South-Eastern Wisconsin. I am incredibly excited to take the skills I have learned and to lead this program.
What do you enjoy outside of River Ridge: My time outside of work is largely spent on two things: music and play. While I of course teach music, I also live and breathe it whenever I can. From performing in various community bands to listening to music in the car, I am always trying to find a new earworm and hope you will share any playlists or song suggestions. I also enjoy spending my time playing games. I have been a lover of video games ever since I was in elementary school. While that love was lost in college, I have recently picked the hobby back up. Along with that resurgence, I have found a love for playing various tabletop games, mainly Dungeons and Dragons.
Why did you choose education: In college, I was originally without direction and decided to study business. After several years, I had an identity crisis. After some soul-searching, I decided to switch paths and pursue music education. I have always wanted to help people, and with musicians in my family (including 3 music teachers), the switch was simply meant to be. In high school and college, the music classroom was where I excelled, learned important life skills, and felt a true sense of belonging. I am honored to now have the privilege to build a community and be a role model every single day.
What would you like others to know about you: I want everyone to know that I am here to support others. Whether someone is excelling or struggling, I always aim to help others improve in and out of the classroom.
