Coastal Storm Weather Briefing
Rain - this continues to be a long duration rainfall event (24-36-hour period) peak rain period Sunday AM
thru Monday AM total accumulations 2” to 3” locally up to 4” possible. Rain this afternoon and this evening
will be slight. Sunday steady and heaver rain in the afternoon with rates up to a ¼ inch per hour at times.
Monday AM rain will gradually reduce.
Winds – We currently have a high wind watch issued for Long Island from noon Sunday through 6 AM
Monday. This system brings a lengthy period of winds for 24 hours. Early Sunday AM sustained 15-20 mph
gusts to 35mph winds - Sunday afternoon into early Monday AM sustained 30-40 mph with gusts up to 55
mph throughout Suffolk County. There is a potential that gusts could reach 60-65 mph east of the William
Floyd. Monday wind gusts 30-35 mph. Wind impacts may be increased due to foliage on the trees.
Coastal impacts - Coastal Flood Watch remain in effect for the entire coastline. Main concern in all areas is
effects at the time of the three high tides Sunday evening and Monday. Southwest Suffolk Great South Bay,
Lindenhurst to Sayville widespread moderate to locally major coastal flooding 2 1/2 to 3 ft likely. Sunday
nights high tide causing extensive road closures and flooding of low-lying properties including parking lots,
parks, and first floors and basements. Note: water may not recede fully between the successive high tides
Sunday afternoon into Monday afternoon.

The Patchogue Village website is now a .gov. The URL is https://www.patchoguevillage.gov/
If you use the old URL it will redirect to the new URL.
This is a new requirement of New York State for all local governments to upgrade to the .gov domain. One reason why it is so important is for cyber-security purposes.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) manages the .gov domain, implementing robust security measures like multi-factor authentication and HTTPS-only preloading for all .gov websites. This helps protect against impersonation and ensures secure communication

I am deeply saddened by the passing of former long-time Village Clerk Patricia Seal who served as clerk from 2005-2020. She worked tirelessly for the residents of the Village and will be greatly missed.

We are very saddened to inform you that our beloved, former Village Clerk, Patricia Seal, passed away on March 15. Patti served as a Village Trustee, elected in 2004 after which she served as Village Clerk from 2005 to 2020. Patti loved her "village family" and worked tirelessly for the residents of Patchogue Village. In 2018 she was honored as the New York State Clerk of the Year. She will be greatly missed. We have become aware of a scam targeting Planning and Zoning Board applicants. Applicants should know that the village will never contact you by email or mail and request payment of fees via wire transfer. If any applicants receive such a request they should immediately call Village Hall to report it and provide us a copy of the correspondence which will be forwarded to SCPD.

The Village Clerk's office is collecting toys for the US Marine Corps 2024 Toys for Tots drive. You may drop new, unwrapped toys at Village Hall anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The deadline to drop off toys is December 11th 4:30 p.m..
