Only 8% of American Airmen reach the rank of Master Sergeant, entering the final enlisted tier of Senior Non-commission Officers. Today's Air Force faces many challenges, but one mission-determining strength rests unparalleled, the Air Force NCO corp.

Time and time again, SNCO leaders and mentors have stood up for what was just, even when it wasn't easy, fighting to develop Airmen and build the next generation of warfighters to an elite standard. This legacy rings true in today's SNCO celebration for Robins Air Force Base Wingman, Aug. 28, 2026, at the Museum of Aviation, Georgia.

Master Sgt. Della Creech and Team Robins newly minted Master Sergeants were honored to be supported by the 78th Air Base Wing, the Air Force Reserve Command, and 367th Recruiting Group at the Robins SNCO Induction Ceremony celebrating elevation to the tier of senior leadership.

Chief Master Sgt. Ronnie Woods delivered a heartfelt message—tracing his path from an Airman carrying a stack of letters of recommendations (LORs) & letters of counselings (LOCs) to a 4x Command Chief, & credited the SNCO who intervened at the right moment to change his life’s trajectory.

The true measure of leadership is not simply how far we rise—it is how many people rise because we chose to invest in them!

Maj. Gen. Frank Bradfield III, 22nd Air Force commander, visited his alma mater, Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, Aug. 24, 2026. Staff Sgt. Jamaal Dunham, 351st Recruiting Squadron Reserve enlisted accessions recruiter, coordinated the visit to give students an opportunity to engage with a distinguished alumnus about leadership, service and education.

Bradfield returned to his alma mater for a memorable visit that celebrated leadership, service, and the lasting influence of education, along with 351 RCS leadership, Lt. Col. Jonathan Markley, commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jonathan Galvin, senior enlisted leader, Dobbins ARB, as well as local Air Force Reserve recruiter, Staff Sgt. Jamaal Dunham.

Dunham coordinated the visit to give students and faculty a rare chance to engage with one of the school’s distinguished graduates.

Throughout the day, Bradfield toured the campus, stepped into classrooms, met with faculty and staff, and shared a relaxed meal with students who were eager to ask questions about leadership, service, education, and life.

He also took time to connect with the Navy JROTC program, speaking candidly about character, perseverance, and the importance of serving something larger than oneself. What stood out most was how genuinely meaningful the visit was to him. Walking those halls again, he reminisced fondly, reflected on the educators who helped shape his path, and shared his excitement with everyone around him. That authenticity made a lasting impression.

While Reserve recruiting was represented, the purpose of the visit was never about immediate enlistment. It was about planting seeds—giving young people space to think broadly about their futures, explore a range of opportunities, and ask informed questions.

When students see someone who once walked their hallways rise to national leadership, military service becomes relatable, not abstract. That connection builds trust and curiosity- and for recruiting, that’s the kind of long-term impact that strengthens community ties and quietly inspires future leaders.

Maj. Gen. Bradfield’s visit was a powerful reminder that influence often begins with simply showing up, sharing your story, and investing in others.

The Air Force Reserve expands financial incentives for fully qualified enlisted Airmen looking to continue their military service, making it easier for active-duty Airmen, prior-service, Air National Guardsmen, and current Reserve Airmen to continue serving while earning a bonus and building financial freedom.

The FY26 Summer Surge Incentive Program, available through Sept. 30, 2026, offers a $10,000 lump-sum payment to eligible enlisted Airmen who commit to a 3-year service commitment in the Air Force Reserve.

The updated incentive guidance expands eligibility by opening the program to all Air Force specialty codes, creating new opportunities for qualified Airmen regardless of career field. The initiative supports the Reserve's mission to retain experienced talent while strengthening readiness through increased recruiting and retention.

Eligibilities:
✅ Prior-service accessions filling a valid vacancy
✅Reserve Component Affiliation Incentive Bonus for active-duty Airmen affiliating into a valid non-overage Reserve vacancy
✅Selective retention for fully qualified Airmen
✅Reenlistments across all AFSCs and Reserve locations

The expanded program provides greater flexibility for Airmen considering continued military service while helping Reserve units retain experienced, mission-ready across the Total Force.

🫡 Officer Bonuses:
💰 Accession Bonus: $20,000, paid incrementally over 3-year term.
💵Affiliation Bonus: $20,000, with 50% paid as an initial lump sum, followed by two incremental payments.

✈️ Enlisted Bonuses:
💵Non-Prior Service Enlistment Bonus: $20,000 for a 6-year enlistment in a critical skill, paid incrementally.

Prior Service Enlistment Bonuses:
‼️Critical Selection List: $15,000 for a minimum 4-year enlistment, paid incrementally.
📢Non-CSL: $10,000 for a minimum 3-year enlistment, paid incrementally.

Enlisted Affiliation Bonuses:
‼️CSL (By-Base): $20,000 for a minimum 6-year contract, paid as a lump sum.
📢Non-CSL (RCAIB): $10,000 for a 3-year contract, paid as a lump sum.

TASK AREA # 2- Develop our Airmen. Invest now in the growth of our future enlisted and officer leaders of tomorrow-Today.

TASK AREA # 3- Preserve and protect our Reservist ability to serve in the Reserve. The Reserve allows a continuum of service options while continuing to serve our nation.
You signed up for the Reserve for a whole bunch of reasons, and it'll be your families to keep you in the Reserve. That's not lost on us for a second.

Suzanne and I, along with Chief Nuñez and Susie, we are committed to the pursuit of making the reserve a place in which they still want to serve

TASK AREA # 4- Fiercely manage and execute our precious resources given to us by our appropriators. Always striving to be a ready, relevant, modern, and a capable force.

And finally, TASK AREA #5- We will curate a true objective Reserve Force of the future. A Force that is needed, and is valued by the nation. We'll be the Reserve the nation needs, and leverage the unique capabilities that can only be found in the Air Force Reserve.

Maj. Fiona Pham assumed command of the 353d Recruiting Squadron, headquartered at March Air Reserve Base, California, during an Assumption of Command ceremony held July 29, 2026, U.S. Army Garrison Presidio of Monterey, California, taking the helm of one of the Air Force Reserve’s largest recruiting units spanning from the Rockies to the Pacific sovereign territories.

The ceremony was presided over by U.S. Air Force Col. Sean “Metro” Fellows, commander of the 367th Recruiting Group, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, on the historic Soldier Field overlooking Monterey Bay, California.

Fellows set the tone for the ceremony early, drawing on Monterey’s historical legacy of a pioneer spirit to frame the weight of the occasion.

“Frontiers have never been tamed by the timid,” said Fellows. “They are tamed by people who ride further than anyone thought reasonable because the mission demands it. This squadron has delivered over 2,118 accessions, the best squadron output in four years. That did not happen by accident. It happened because recruiters, flight chiefs, and support staff refused to let the tyranny of distance become an excuse.”

It is an honor to introduce the officer who will lead this Western Frontier forward.
