Prayers for the Fairystone Vol. Fire Department and the Family of Chief Steve Peal. Steve was extremely dedicated to serving the citizens of Patrick County, rarely missing a call for service. Rest easy Chief!

It is with sad and heavy hearts to share that our fire chief, Steve Peal, went home to be with the Lord today. May you rest in peace our faithful friend.

While EMS Week is over, there are a few honorable mention people and organizations that are just as dedicated to our mission.

Patrick Springs Volunteer Fire Department has become an essential part of the ongoing mission to improve rural EMS response and public safety throughout Patrick County.

Time and time again, Patrick Springs Fire Department has stepped up whenever help was needed. Whether assisting with lift assists, providing drivers, helping secure landing zones, assisting on scenes, or simply being there when resources were stretched thin, their department has consistently shown what true teamwork and mutual aid look like.

In rural emergency services, success is built through partnerships, trust, and people willing to answer the call no matter the circumstance. Patrick Springs Volunteer Fire Department continues to embody that spirit of service and cooperation.

Their willingness to work alongside Jeb Stuart Rescue Squad has helped strengthen emergency response capabilities throughout the community and has directly impacted the level of care and support our citizens receive.

We deeply appreciate the dedication, professionalism, and brotherhood shown by every member of Patrick Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

Thank you for continuing to stand beside us in service to Patrick County.

One Squad. One Mission. One Community.

We wanted to take the time to recognize two of our members for their hard work and dedication:

Captain - Nate Harris (Left): Nate just successfully completed and obtained his NREMT-B certification!

Safety Officer - Cody Collins (Right): Cody was selected as Patrick County’s Firefighter of the Year for 2025!

Congratulations to both of these guys and we greatly appreciate their commitment to bettering themselves for the citizens they serve.
