Happy Good Friday everyone!

I won’t go into detail, but we spent this Good Friday explaining the sacrifice that was taken and the significance of this day to our kids…

I feel that this world owes you nothing. That you owe it to the world to not squander the sacrifices that Jesus bore for you.

Where Sunday is a joyous day, today is more somber in a way, but also thankful that our sins were taken and Grace is received.

Have a good night everyone.

Thought for the night,

When leadership is corrupt, it becomes selfish.

Sit back and watch who is trying to build their “legacy” and get their name on buildings and plaques anywhere and everywhere possible. Who puts the needs of some in front of the needs of the worst parts of our city like certain roads and drainage. Who tries to manipulate and use their position to get friends into an office… or to legally harass local business owners because “you” don’t like to see the propane tanks on your way home… even though this business owner has done nothing wrong except supporting certain candidates by allowing their political signs on the property.

Servant Leadership puts the needs of others in front of yourself. It seems this idea is completely lost to many these days. The same infection of federal government that has damaged all of our lives… is right here in Pattison as well.

I gladly gave up my seat at the table of city government (for now). The position and title doesn’t define me as a success or build my legacy. But what this country and this city needs…. is more freedom and less government…

Have a good night Pattison.

Good afternoon City of Pattison!

Well… just as I expected, Mayor Garcia has overstepped his authority behind the scenes thinking he wouldn’t get caught trying to help his friend with something that looks like voter fraud to me.

So here is the situation, there is an election for board members of the Pattison Water Supply going on right now. There are two spots open and running for them are one existing member of that board who the mayor doesn’t like, a current City Council Member who the mayor doesn’t like and an appointed city planning commission member that is best buddies with the mayor.

Since the City of Pattison is a customer of Pattison Water Supply, a ballot was sent to the city for voting just like all other accounts. As far as the Water Supply remembers, the city has never voted in an election. HOWEVER! They did this time and without any authority given by City Council!

The claim is that the Mayor gave the ballot to the City Secretary and said “vote however you want”. I highly doubt that is what happened… anyone that truly knows him knows that is highly unlikely especially since his buddy is running and he is out campaigning for him.

Even if that is what happened, the Mayor doesn’t have the authority to give voting rights to the City Secretary as the voice of the people of the City of Pattison either! The Mayor doesn’t even have voting rights himself… unless the City Council gave him the specific direction to vote on the city’s behalf…. Which we did NOT.

The good thing is that this was expected, anticipated and caught… so the unopened ballot is said to be removed and placed on the next City Council meeting for discussion.

This is no small matter… it leads the question of what else is being hidden and done behind City Council’s back that just hasn’t been caught yet? This is not some little mistake, this is someone who thought he could go around his authority and help get someone he wants elected into the Pattison Water Supply so that he can try to seize control for himself as the City.

If you disagree with the actions of the Mayor, then you need to stand up and come to the meeting on Feb 16th at 7:00pm to have your voices heard. We have enough trouble with government overreach from other areas of our lives… we don’t need this in our city as well.

Have a great day!

Merry Christmas Pattison!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy day with family and friends.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

This minute hit me. I learned years ago about the word ”humble” (no… not the city in Texas) and I have tried to live a humble life especially after finding my faith.

This one hit pretty hard during the recent political campaign… I chose not to grandstand about my multiple college degrees, my awards and accomplishments… but rather stay humble and serve.
I don’t need to make plaques with my name on them to serve my own ego…

I feel that across the nation and even in our beautiful city, we have many people who need to learn how to be humble. From our federal government to our local elected positions… ask them why they do what they do and just watch to see who they give credit to when they talk about their accomplishments.

I’ve said it during the campaign and I probably always will… I wouldn’t be who I am without my faith, without my wife and kids… and without friends who support and help guide me to be who I was created to be. Thanks be to God and thanks to all of you out there who I call family and friends.

Take your good intentions and turn them into good actions. Do something. Don’t just sit there and complain about your situation, about what you think schools or governments should be doing…. Step up and add intentionality in your life today.

Well… it wasn’t meant to be at this time.

The people of Pattison spoke and it wasn’t a landslide endorsement of one over the other… I tried to tell so many people that every single vote matters. I hope the 20-25 people that said they would vote but didn’t vote at all understand now.

Seeing that there was 167 votes this time versus the 76 of the previous election, I do hope that the citizens of Pattison continue to stand up and start knowing what is going on in their city.

It’s said to be a quote from Gandhi, but it’s not what he said. Still very fitting though:

“Be the change you wish to see in the world”

I’m proud of my kids and wife who worked hard to help. My official campaign manager (AidanTheHunter) is pretty upset, but it’s a life lesson for him to learn that things don’t always work out the way we want.

I’m very humbled by the support and encouragement that was given to me through this. Not just from Pattison, but also from Brookshire as well.

I still love my city. I will still stand up for what I think is right and what is best for us. But now I move forward to find the lesson that God has put in front of me.

Thank You.
Seth

Just a few hours left to vote today!

Two more days to make sure you get out and vote:

Tomorrow (Tuesday)
Brookshire Convention Center
7:00am - 7:00pm

Election Day (Saturday - May 7)
Pattison Fire Station
7:00am - 7:00pm

I appreciate everyone who has encouraged and supported me to stand up for our city. I’m honored by your trust and confidence in me no matter what the outcome is to the election!
There has been some people trying to spread false information about me, but those of you who know me stood up and voiced your own opinions as well!

I have largely ignored their tactics and stuck to handling my own campaign. I believe in our freedom of speech, so people can say what they wish... as an elected official, that’s something I deal with quite a lot. But I’m not required to listen and it’s my decision on how and if I respond at all. I’m in control of me.

I appreciate all of you who reached out to get to know me for yourself and not taking someone else’s opinion as your own fact.

I believe in small government and more freedoms. Not just in our federal and state governments but in our local offices as well.

No matter what happens with the final vote in this election, I love my city and want to see what is best for it for the future. With your support, I look forward to leading the city into our next phase of changes that have already showed up knocking on our door.

Have a great day and God Bless!
Seth

Good evening Pattison,

It all starts tomorrow morning. Early voting at the Brookshire Convention Center and Election day at the Pattison Fire Station on May 7th.

It all comes down to the residents of Pattison standing up to vote. This is the second contested election in over 20 years… the most recent election which was for the mayoral race in 2016 between Garcia and Buller was only 76 total votes. The race was decided by 6 votes. So, every single vote will matter in a city our size.

Our city is changing fast and the good-ole-boy way of a single person being in control of everything can’t continue. It’s time for someone to start leading and stop controlling every process. I would be honored to stand up for my city and do that.

I appreciate all of the new people I was able to meet and speak with as well as those who have continually gave their support and encouragement to stand up for the future of our city.

At this point, it’s in the hands of the people. If you have any further questions, please feel free to let me know. If you have friends who live in Pattison… please talk to them about why you are supporting me. It will take all of us together to create the future for our city, and if it be God’s will… then it will be.

Have a good night.
Seth

A quick thank you to all of the people who came out to talk, ask questions and enjoy some home cooked food tonight!
I’m glad we brought extra supplies to be able to feed more than 50!

I’m humbled that you were willing to share a part of your Easter weekend with us/me tonight.

Thanks go to God for walking with me through this endeavor that you have put in front of me.

Additional thanks to my wife, my twins (who are my campaign manager Aidan and my motivation coach Erin), my Aunt and Uncle that came yesterday and all day today to help make the pies and all the food along with serving all the people who came. I can’t forget my friends from Houston who came all the way out here (y’all, they think Pattison is in East San Antonio…) to support and enjoy the night with us.

Thanks to the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department for allowing us the space to hold this event as well!

If I missed anyone else… Thank You too! I couldn’t do this without the support of the residents of Pattison!

Have a great Easter Sunday.
Seth
