On May 30, 2026, at approximately 1550 hours, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers were requested to assist the Purcell Police Department with an active vehicle pursuit, which continued south on I-35 to Pauls Valley.

Pauls Valley Officers subsequently began assisting in the pursuit and responded to the incident in the area of Airline Road and County Road 3220. The suspect had fled from his vehicle on foot while armed with a long gun. Our Officer and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper subsequently discharged their weapons, injuring the suspect. The suspect is currently receiving medical care.

Our Officer and the involved Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper were not injured during the incident.

On May 13, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m., deputies with the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence near County Roads 3240 and 1540 in reference to a reported stabbing.
While deputies were en route, the victim left the residence in a pickup truck. A short time later, the victim lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. Emergency responders arrived on scene and rendered medical aid. The victim was later airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital, where he is expected to undergo surgery for injuries sustained during the incident.
The suspect, identified as Roy Talbott, fled the residence prior to law enforcement arrival. Through coordinated efforts between the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office and the Pauls Valley Police Department, Talbott was later located and taken into custody at the Love’s Travel Stop near Airline Road and Interstate 35.
An additional individual, identified as Addie Conklin, was also taken into custody during the incident.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The Police Department phones are currently down. If you need to call for a non-emergency please call Garvin Communications Center 405-238-9900 and they will have an officer call back from a cell phone.

911 phone is still working and can be used for emergency services.
