INTRODUCING LAFITTE'S SUPPER CLUB

Hello Friends and Neighbors -

My wife and I are former restaurant proprietors in Escondido. Our little place specialized in New Orleans cuisine. After selling the business we missed the creative aspects of preparing delicious food and drinks for our customers - but we didn't miss the business hassles of owning a restaurant. Not even a little bit.

What to do?

Welcome to Lafitte's Supper Club, a private home-based dining experience you can share with a small group of friends or family. Lafitte's gives me and my wife an opportunity to meet new people and entertain a few folks in our Pauma Valley home once or twice per month. The evening begins with a specialty cocktail followed by a four-course, prix-fixe meal served at a communal table and prepared by just the two of us. The menu changes every month, but it is always inspired by the food we love most - the Cajun and Creole cuisine of Louisiana, and New Orleans in particular.

Here's a look at a recent Lafitte's menu:

THE SOUTHERN GENTLEMAN COCKTAIL
Buffalo Trace bourbon with muddled blackberry, mint, lemon juice and simple syrup strained over rocks.
Or
MOËT CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL
Moët champagne with Navan vanilla liqueur, and a splash of passion fruit juice.

GULF COAST SHRIMP REMOULADE
Seasoned and chilled jumbo shrimp topped with remoulade and served over baby arugula.

STEAMBOAT SALAD
Fresh Pauma Valley greens with port-soaked dried cherries, toasted pecans, crumbled blue cheese and a Tabasco, cinnamon and raspberry vinaigrette.

CRAWFISH ÉTOUFFÉE with CREOLE RICE
"The ultimate New Orleans comfort food."

BANANAS FOSTER
Sliced bananas, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, Bacardi rum, and banana liqueur - flambéed fireside and served over homemade vanilla ice cream.

How it works:
We serve a maximum of 10 guests and a minimum of 6. Diners must be over 21 years of age to attend. Reservations are required and there is a DONATION of $50 per guest, paid for in advance of your arrival. During the meal you may be seated next to people who are not yet friends, but hopefully will be by evening's end!

Our doors open at 6:15pm. Your cocktail and appetizer will be served promptly at 6:45pm. Late arrivals will join the meal during its current course. There are no refunds for No-Shows, but you can reschedule your meal for a future date with 24 hours notice of your need to cancel.
