GIRLS SOCCER: Youthful York/Pavilion expected to be ultra competitive this fall.

LCAA’s FINEST
GREIGSVILLE – York/Paviilion girls soccer coach Vic VanVliet really likes the chemistry of this year’s squad which includes a mix of some talented younger players who gained valuable experience a year ago.

Most of last year’s squad were both modified and JV eligible kids playing up on varsity.

Coach VanVliet says, “We were a very young team last year, with the base of our group made up primarily of eighth, ninth, and tenth graders. We continue to be a young team this season, with our core now made up of ninth-graders. Our focus is going to be on working hard every day, continuing to develop, and building on the progress we made last season. There weren’t many games last year where we weren’t competitive and in the game, and as the season progressed, we continued to grow stronger and more confident. We’re hoping to carry that momentum into this season. We know we still have a lot of work ahead of us, but we’re excited about the potential of this group and what we can accomplish by continuing to work together and develop throughout the season.”
