On Friday, April 10th, the Honorable Kathleen Brickley presented at the 2026 Regional Judicial Seminar hosted by the Michigan Judicial Institute, contributing to a comprehensive General Criminal Law Update alongside judges from across the state.

Her presentation covered key areas of criminal law, including motions to quash, sentencing and post-sentencing case law updates, plea agreements, and offense variables. These topics are essential to maintaining consistency, fairness, and accuracy in court proceedings, and reflect the importance of staying current with evolving legal standards.

Seminars like this support ongoing judicial education and strengthen the court system by encouraging collaboration and the sharing of knowledge across jurisdictions. Judge Brickley’s participation highlights the 36th Circuit Court’s commitment to professionalism, continued learning, and high-quality public service.

We are proud to have her representing our court at these important statewide events.
