A look back at a special day in our DEC classroom with the Sarett Nature Center! 🐒

Students had the opportunity to get up close with a turtle, snake, beaver, and lizard while learning about each of them and their habitats. Experiences like this help bring science to life, building curiosity, confidence, and early science skills through hands-on learning. 🐍 🦫

Thank you to Sarett Nature Center for sharing your time, knowledge, and animals with our students! 🦎

Movement, smiles, and a whole lot of energy! πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

Our students are building strong bodies and healthy habits every day, whether they're stretching to start their morning or running, jumping, and playing with friends.

These moments help children grow coordination, balance, and lifelong wellness skills through active play. πŸŒ»πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

As the week comes to a close, take a moment to notice how you’re feeling.

Mental health isn’t just about the hard days, it’s also about rest, recovery, and small moments that help us reset. For some, that might be quiet time. For others, it’s laughter with family, a walk outside, or simply slowing down after a busy week.

Every person carries something unseen. A little kindness toward yourself and others can go a long way.

You don’t have to do it all perfectly. You just have to keep showing up for yourself, one moment at a time πŸ’š

From caterpillars to butterflies. πŸ¦‹

Our students loved watching the butterfly life cycle unfold right in their classroom and were so excited to set their butterflies free.

They observed each stage closely, talked about what they noticed, and began to understand how living things change over time.

Experiences like this turn science into something children can see, touch, and understand. πŸ›πŸ¦‹

As our Head Start students finish their last week of school, we want to take a moment to celebrate an incredible year of learning, growth, laughter, and love. πŸ’™

To our amazing Head Start teachers , thank you for the patience, care, encouragement, and dedication you pour into our children every single day. You help create safe, joyful classrooms where children can learn, explore, and thrive.

To our students, we are so proud of how much you’ve grown this year! We hope you have a fun, safe, and happy summer. β˜€οΈ

Choosing a preschool is a big decision. 🏫

You want a place where your child feels safe, loved, confident, and excited to learn.

In our classrooms, children build friendships, learn through play, practice important school-readiness skills, and grow their independence every day. Families also receive support, resources, and encouragement along the way because early childhood education should support the whole family, not just the child.

If you have a child ages 0–5 and are exploring preschool options, we would love to connect with you and share more about our program. 🌻

Head Start is a program for families of preschoolers ages 3 to 5. Early Head Start serves families with children 0 to 3. Enroll your child today.

While children create art, they're also building fine motor skills, problem-solving, confidence, and self-expression. Every paint stroke, cut, and drawing helps strengthen skills they'll use for years to come.

Sometimes the biggest learning moments look like messy hands and proud smiles. 😁

Fresh fruit, big smiles, and hands-on learning! πŸ₯πŸ

Our students made their own mango and pineapple juice while learning about healthy ingredients, nutrition, and where food comes from. From pouring and mixing to tasting something new, every step turned into a fun learning experience.

When healthy choices are interactive and exciting, children are more confident trying new foods and building lifelong habits that support healthy growth and development. πŸ’™

Our Watervliet center recently celebrated our Young Athletes program. πŸ’™πŸ…

Through the Special Olympics Young Athletes program, children are building teamwork, inclusion, perseverance, and confidence while discovering the joy of trying something new.

Moments like these reflect our commitment to supporting the whole child and creating environments where every child feels valued, capable, and included. Watching our young athletes encourage one another, celebrate successes, and have fun together is a meaningful reminder of the impact these experiences can have. 🌻
