🔥Vacant House Fire Update🔥

We regret to inform the community about a house fire that occurred on Woodward at approximately 10:35 this morning. Thankfully, the residence was unoccupied at the time, but it has been declared a total loss. The flames spread rapidly, presenting a significant challenge for our firefighters, who battled the fire under the extreme Oklahoma heat.

A heartfelt thank you to the Pawhuska Fire Department and Pawhuska EMS for their swift response during this emergency. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Pawhuska Fire Department.

Pawhuska Police Department Statement on Cavalcade Dance Incident

Last night’s Cavalcade Dance was a vibrant celebration for our community, with the majority of attendees enjoying the music, dancing, and camaraderie. Unfortunately, a small number of individuals chose to engage in disruptive behavior rather than participate in the festivities.

We are aware of the now-viral video showing an altercation that took place during the event. Thanks to a swift response from our officers, one individual attempting to flee the area was apprehended last night.

Due to the sensitive nature of this case involving juveniles, we cannot disclose further details or discuss the ongoing investigation. The case has been submitted to the Office of Juvenile Affairs and the District Attorney’s office for thorough review.

I want to assure our community that such incidents will not be tolerated. We are committed to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all our citizens during community events. Thank you for your understanding and support.

What an unforgettable 4th of July we had here in Pawhuska! It was truly heartwarming to see so many people from across the USA and even from other continents come together to celebrate in our community. The annual patriotic party, hosted by the one and only Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, was absolutely spectacular.

Even though a storm threatened to disrupt the festivities, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The rain, thunder, and lightning created a dramatic backdrop, bringing everyone closer as they huddled inside the event center, ready to make the most of the evening.

As I watched festival-goers savor the atmosphere, my heart swelled with gratitude. While the rain poured outside, everyone enjoyed delicious free food and drinks, and the smiles around were infectious. It was clear this night was destined to be special.

!!!The Fireworks!!! ~ They lit up the sky in a way that no other town could rival. A heartfelt thank you to the Drummonds for embracing our community and turning this celebration into a truly memorable occasion.

I would like to extend a special thank you to my officers, the Osage County Sheriff's Office and the Pawhuska Fire Department for their hard work in keeping the night safe and enjoyable for all. Your dedication ensured that everyone could celebrate in peace and joy. Let’s also send a HUGE thank you to the Pawhuska employees Dustin, Luis & Daniel - for keeping the event clean and debris free! I seen this crew still hard at it at 1am! 🧨
