SOFTBALL CAMP | The Osage Nation Office of Financial Assistanceโ€™s Softball Camp was a hit this past weekend at the Pawhuska High School Softball Field. On Saturday, 83 participants signed up to build on their hitting skills with former Oklahoma Sooner Softball players Caleigh Clifton and Jocelyn Alo. On Sunday, 75 participants practiced strengthening foot work and fielding the ball properly. Current OU Sooner players Kendall Wells and Miali Guachino worked with pitchers and catchers while Caleigh Clifton and Jocelyn Alo worked with outfielders.

John Bighorse, Youth Coordinator for Financial Assistance, thanks Pawhuska Public Schools and Coach Stephanie Hill for the use of their softball facility. Special thanks to the parents and the numerous helpers that made the camp so successful. โ€œWe are very grateful for the knowledge that Caleigh, Jocelyn, Kendall and Miali brought to our participants,โ€ Bighorse says. โ€œWatching throughout the day, I could see the competitiveness coming out in each girl participating in the camp and the willingness to help their peers get better with each rep. I think that every participant left with much more knowledge of the game and how to make it to the next level in softball.โ€
