The Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department responds 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to fires and other emergencies in Pawlet. We also assist the fire departments of other surrounding communities through a system of mutual aid, enhancing preparedness throughout the region. Our department is one of nine fire departments in Vermont dispatched by the Washington County Department of Public Safety. We are an

all-volunteer outfit, comprised entirely of citizens of our town who donate their time without compensation. The Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, financed in part by taxes allocated by the town, in part by fundraising events, and in part by the generous donations of individuals and businesses in our region.

At 11:50 this morning Pawlet Fire, West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., Granville Fire and Granville Rescue Squad, Inc. were dispatched to a motor vehicle incident with unknown injuries on Buttons Falls Road, an automated crash notification. Arriving West Pawlet officers determined there was no incident at the location and cancelled the mutual aid response.

Pawlet and West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. firefighters responded to a report of a tree burning on wires on Tinmouth Mountain Drive this evening. The scene was turned over to Green Mountain Power.

Pawlet and West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. firefighters responded to a report of a tree and wires down on a vehicle on Betts Bridge Road this afternoon. No one was injured. Firefighters located trees down at multiple points in the roadway, secured the scene and closed the road. Our thanks to Green Mountain Power and the Pawlet Highway Department for taking it from there.

Pawlet, West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. and Granville firefighters responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle incident on Rt. 30 near Rt. 153 this afternoon. No one was seriously injured.

Pawlet firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire caused by a lightning strike in Manchester shortly before 1am. Arriving Manchester firefighters quickly brought the situation under control and responding mutual aid units were cancelled.

Manchester Fire Department VT shared some pics for the fire scene in East Dorset this afternoon. The strength of our local mutual aid system was on full display at this incident, which brought together fire crews from far and wide.

Pawlet firefighters responded to a residential structure fire on Rt. 7 in East Dorset this afternoon, in the area of Emerald Lake State Park. Crews from many different local fire departments worked together to bring the incident safely under control.

Pawlet and West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. firefighters responded to a report of a carbon monoxide detector activation at a residence on Kelley Hill Road this morning. Firefighters investigated and determined the alarm was due to a malfunctioning detector.
