The banner is here, and we are ready to hang it proudly in the halls of the BEST middle school in South Carolina!
What an incredible journey it has been. In just a few short years, Waccamaw Middle School has grown from an average school to an Excellent school—and we have maintained that distinction for three consecutive years. Achievements like this don’t happen by chance.
It takes a team of passionate, dedicated, hardworking people who believe in our students and our mission every single day. To our amazing faculty and staff, our brilliant and hardworking students, and our unwavering families and community partners—thank you for making this possible.
This recognition is a reflection of the commitment, pride, and teamwork that define our Warrior Tribe. Together, we continue to raise the bar, challenge expectations, and create opportunities for success for every student who walks through our doors.

📚☀️ Motivation Monday: Keep Growing This Summer! ☀️📚
Warriors, summer is the perfect time to relax, recharge, and READ! Research shows that students who continue reading during the summer strengthen their vocabulary, build confidence, keep their minds active, and are better prepared for success when school begins again.

This year’s summer reading theme is “Unearth a Story” 🦖📖, and we encourage all of our Warriors to find a book they love, create a reading routine, and dive into a great adventure. Whether you’re reading at the beach, by the pool, on a road trip, or in your favorite chair at home, every page helps you grow!

Don’t forget to complete your summer reading project and check with your ELA teacher for specific due dates and expectations.

This distinguished recognition is part of the Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards Program, which honors schools demonstrating high levels of academic achievement, strong student growth, and meaningful progress in closing achievement gaps. This award reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our students, teachers, staff, and families who work together every day to make WMS such a special place.

We are incredibly proud of our Warrior family and all that has been accomplished. This recognition is a reflection of teamwork, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence that continues to make a difference every single day. WMS truly is Palmetto’s Finest! 👏

Also, THE TRIBE, the Principals Student Advisory Group, had its final meeting of the school year and enjoyed spending time together celebrating all of the accomplishments and successes from this amazing year! 🇺🇸❤️ Today we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend—it is a time to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and dedication of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy each day.
As a WMS family, we remember those heroes and extend our gratitude to the families who carry their legacy forward. May we never forget their sacrifice and may we always honor their service.

🎓❤️ The WHS Senior Walk tradition is always such a special moment at WMS! Watching these seniors walk back through the middle school hallways that once held so many memories, friendships, and milestones is truly something special. It is a reminder of how quickly time flies and just how far these students have come.
A special thank you to our amazing band for adding an extra meaningful touch by playing Pomp and Circumstance, making the moment even more memorable. 🎶 And thank you to our students for creating posters, cheering loudly, and showing so much love and support as the seniors made their walk through WMS!

From water slides and slip-and-slides to basketball, volleyball, nine square, four square, the dunk tank, and the Color War, it was a day packed with excitement from beginning to end! ❤️🖤
And of course, we topped it all off with Mr. Softee! 🍦
What a great way to celebrate an amazing year and recognize our students for all of their hard work! We are so proud of this incredible group of Warriors and loved spending the day making memories together.

From water slides and slip-and-slides to basketball, volleyball, nine square, four square, the dunk tank, and the annual Color War, it was a day full of fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments for the Class of 2030! ❤️🖤
And of course, we topped it all off with Mr. Softee! 🍦
We cannot wait to celebrate these incredible students next week at their Promotion Celebration, but it is hard knowing we will soon say goodbye to this amazing group that has truly left its mark on WMS. We are so proud of each of you and all that you have accomplished.
