Do you work with youth? Then this training may be for you! There are still open seats available in our upcoming Youth Mental Health First Aid course. Wednesday, 6/10! Free!

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. Led by certified instructors from the Maya Gold Foundation, this all-day training is being offered free, thanks to a partnership between Maya Gold, the Mental Health Association in New York, and the Pawling Library. Great for coaches, teachers, parents, and anyone who works with youth. CE credit is provided, upon completion of the course.

As part of the Teen Dialogue Accelerator grant, Young Adult Program Coordinator Maureen Meltzer-McGrath and Julianna Knowles, Youth Fellow for the grant, traveled to MIT recently. While there, they met with the other nine libraries from all over the country as well as the grant donors from Cortico and MIT to compare approaches and to learn more about making sense of the conversations held with teenage members of the community.
Join the conversation at our library! Teens, age 14 years and up are invited. Weโ€™ll be having upcoming conversations about AI and the future of school and work throughout the month of June. Dates are to be announced. Please contact [email protected] with questions or for more information!

Join us for the opening reception of Tiny Toys: The Miniature Toy Photography of Zach Oat on Saturday, June 6 at 2 pm โ€“ 4 pm.
Poseable. Customizable. Collectable. Mini-mates are one of the greatest toy lines in history, and toy photographer Zach Oat has collected some of his favorite photos of the 2-inch toys. With characters from Marvel, Aliens, G.I. Joe, Transformers and more, his photos make the tiny figures larger than life (literally), and filled with action and energy. The exhibit will be available for viewing during regular library hours from June 6 through June 27.

Zach Oat served as the editor of โ€œToyFareโ€ magazine for nine years, where he also played a key role as one of the lead photographers for the Twisted ToyFare Theatre comic strip. Additionally, he co-authored โ€œPop Sculpture: How to Create Your Own Action Figures and Collectible Statuesโ€. His exhibition features photographs from his book Tiny Toys: The Miniature Toy Photography of Zach Oat. Copies of Zach Oatโ€™s new book will be available for sale at the opening reception.
