January 12, 1939 - Fritz Gamage dies. A graduate of the Pawling School, Fritz served as the School’s second headmaster from 1932 to 1935. His father was our founding headmaster, Dr. Gamage.

November 5, 1908 - A date that would forever be known as Founders’ Day, when Dr. Gamage announced a $100,000 gift from George Cluett in memory of his son, one of Dr. Gamage’s former students from St. Paul’s. The students walked from Dutcher House to the site of the current campus to mark the occasion. This article from the Pawling School Weekly’s 11/9/32 issue gives a recap of that year's Founders’ Day, as Dr. Gamage reflected on the life of Alfonzo Cluett.
