Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. issued the following statement after Oklahoma’s new attorney general officially asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn or limit the historic decision:

COMING SOON: The Cherokee Nation is preparing to announce its first controlled hunt opportunity for the tribe’s new 4,400-acre preserve in Sequoyah County this October.

The first controlled hunt will focus on Cherokee elders, Cherokee youth, and Cherokee veterans, including opportunities for at-large citizens. Once applications are live online, they will be taken through the Cherokee Nation’s new online Gadugi Portal, so if you haven’t signed up, please do so ahead of the application launch by visiting https://gadugiportal.cherokee.org.

This historic hunting opportunity on the tribe’s new Cherokee Nation Hunting Preserve in Sequoyah County is part of Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Chief Bryan Warner’s Cherokee Nation Park, Wildlands, Fishing and Hunting Preserve Act of 2021 signed into law on March 1 to providing hunting and fishing opportunities for citizens, along with traditional outdoor activities, cultural use, land management and natural resource conservation.

Stay tuned for more details!

Official Statements of The Honorable C. "Rooster Cogburn" Benes:

The Office of the Governor, Provisional State, has signed the official formal request to the Principal Chief David Hill of The Muscogee Nation for recognition and extension of diplomatic relations.

In the letter, the Governor emphatically stated the Provisional State does not infringe upon the sovereignty of the Nation. The Provisional State only acts in the narrow constitutional fissure between the limits of the sham State of Oklahoma jurisdiction on tribal land and sovereignty of the tribal Nations.

The role of the Provisional State will become more important as the sham State of Oklahoma retreats to No Man's Land Panhandle, where it has jurisdiction and authority under federal law, Enabling Act.

The Governor of the Provisional State further recognizes a state of war exists between the United States and the Nation, where the United States is in continuous violation of the Treaty of Cusseta, which established diplomatic relationship between two sovereigns.

The United States has never honored terms of the Treaty. The United States acted beyond scope of its jurisdiction, when it forced the Nation to free slaves and share wealth with Greenwood freedmen.

The United States continues to prosecute criminal cases on the Indian Territory of Oklahoma where it lacks due-process competent subject matter jurisdiction, upon standard of review posed by the Treaty. The United States can not dictate tribal membership and citizenship of another sovereign on equal footing, through the Dawes Commission Rolls.

The position of The Honorable A. Lee Been, Jr., Office of the Attorney General, Provisional State, is clear, convincing, and compelling and can no longer be ignored.

The United States is an illegitimate illegal occupying military force, which must be removed from tribal lands, upon standard of review posed by the Treaty.
