Before you share your location, a photo, or personal details online, pause and ask: Who am I sharing this with, and am I comfortable with them having it?

Your boundaries matter online, too.

Think first. Share intentionally. Stay safe. 💜

A new school year can mean new friends, new relationships, and new group chats— but this doesn’t mean your boundaries should disappear.

Your phone is yours. 🔒
Your passwords are yours.
Your messages are yours.
Your location is yours.
And you get to decide who has access. 🔑

You never owe someone access to your phone to prove that you love or trust them. 💜

As we get ready for a new school year, let’s talk about setting healthy boundaries— especially when it comes to our digital lives.

A healthy relationship respects your boundaries. Your partner should never use your phone, passwords, location, messages, or social media to control you.

Your phone is part of your life. It should t be used to control it.

On Tuesday, August 4th, BVAC joined National Night Out, connecting with residents, community partners, and local law enforcement to share resources, raise awareness about our services, and strengthen the relationships that are so important to survivor support. 💜

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, asked questions, and learned more about the services we provide.

A special thanks to our local police departments who organized these statewide events!

We’re so proud to be part of communities that come together to build safer, stronger neighborhoods. 💜

Did you know Rhode Island has a program that can help protect your address if sharing it could put your safety at risk?

The RI Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) provides survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and certain other crimes with a substitute mailing address to help keep their physical address confidential in public records.

If you’re concerned about your safety, you have options— and you don’t have to navigate them alone.

This Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, we recognize that many people from minority communities face barriers to accessing mental health care, including stigma, language differences, financial challenges, and a lack of culturally responsive care.

Everyone deserves access to compassionate, inclusive care. Together, we can raise awareness, reduce stigma, and advocate for equitable support for all. 💚
