Jan. 2, 2027 No referrals are needed to use the food pantry. Those eligible to use it, however, must have a household income no greater than 130% of the poverty level. Food is distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We are located at 361 1/2 N. Railroad (in the back part of WPXN's buildi

ng). We are north of the stoplight on Rt. 45 & 9 and south of Dairy Queen. HCFP is the only distributor of food from the Eastern Illinois Food Bank in Paxton. HCFP is a distributor of US government commodities. Support is solely by donation from area individuals and organizations. Checks made out to “Hands of Christ Food Pantry” may be sent to:

Non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, and cleaning products may be left there as well. Hours:
Every Saturday 9:00 -- 11:00 AM
We ask that clients arrive by 10:45 so you have time to shop. Clients may come at 10:30ish for produce/baked goods. We ask if there are clients waiting to shop that you wait until they are finished (but check in at the desk). Produce/baked goods may not always be available.
2nd Tuesday of month 4:00 -- 5:00 PM

If you are a client of Hands of Christ you do not need to register -- just tell them you are a client (or if you saved the QR code you received when we signed you into our new system -- use that).
No documentation (ID, proof of income, etc.) is required. Our staff will ask basic demographic information, such as name and date of birth, to check you in, and ask you to verbally attest that you meet the state income guidelines.
Because distribution times and locations are subject to change, please visit our (Eastern Illinois Foodbank) Foodmobile schedule or Food Finder to confirm distribution details each month before attending. Please confirm any information shared by a third party (e.g. social media, printed flyers) with our schedule to ensure accuracy.
