🚨🎒 PARENTS… IT’S TIME. 😂

Tomorrow is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL at PBL! 🐾💙💛

Backpacks? 🎒 Check.
School supplies? ✏️ Probably.
Kids excited? 🤷‍♂️
Parents excited? ABSOLUTELY. 😂☕️

As our Panthers head back to school, the Paxton Police Department wants everyone to help us start the year off safely.

🚗 Slow down around schools and buses.
🚌 STOP when the bus lights are flashing.
🚸 Watch for kids crossing streets and walking to school.
📱 Put the phone down while driving.
❤️ And give everyone a little extra patience tomorrow morning.

The first few mornings can be a little chaotic. There will be buses, walkers, bikes, parents dropping kids off, and at least one person who realizes at 7:55 that they forgot something at home. 😂

Let’s all do our part to make sure everyone gets to school safely.

🌧️ FLOODING UPDATE 🌧️

Busy night and lots flooding throughout Paxton with multiple street closures and areas becoming unsafe to travel.

🚧 Several barricades were placed around town for everyone’s safety.

If you don’t need to be out, stay home and stay safe. Please use extra caution when traveling this morning.

We appreciate our partners with the Paxton Emergency Response Service for their help!

Also, Paxton Hardware and Rental is open early for assistance with flooding.

🚔 Have you ever been pulled over and the officer goes back to the squad car… and you wait… and wait… and wait?

At first you’re thinking:
“Dang… I’m definitely getting a ticket.” 😬

A few minutes later:
“Wait… did I pay that ticket from 2018?” 🤔

Then:
“Do I have a warrant? Are they calling for backup? Am I going to jail?!” 😳

A few more minutes pass, and suddenly you’re questioning every decision you’ve ever made—including that time when your buddy may or may not have convinced you to do something incredibly dumb. 😂

Then the officer finally comes back and gives you a warning. 😬🤯

Well… here’s what probably happened: 👀

👮‍♂️ Your driver’s license fell between the seat and center console, and the officer spent the last few minutes trying to fish it out. 🪪🫠

🚑🩹 Last week, officers from the Paxton Police Department and deputies from the Ford County Sheriff’s Office traded patrol cars for a classroom during CPR and Stop the Bleed training.

Training never ends! 💪 Keeping our life-saving skills sharp helps ensure we’re ready when our community needs us most.

Of course, one deputy had a small scheduling dilemma and his little guy came along for the training! 😊

We’re happy to report our youngest “student” took his CPR training very seriously… making rounds through the classroom! 😎 We can’t officially certify the little guy just yet, but we’d say he’s off to a pretty good start. 👶❤️🚓😂

A big thank you to Andy Jones with the Gibson Area Hospital for another excellent class. We appreciate it! 👏🚔💙

The Paxton Police Department is excited to introduce the Blue Envelope Program in partnership with The Autism Hero Project! It's a simple but meaningful way to help improve communication between our officers and individuals on the autism spectrum and other communication related conditions.

Think of the envelope as a little blue helper. 😊

The Blue Envelope serves as a visual cue that someone may communicate differently or benefit from a little extra patience and understanding during a police encounter. It helps our officers recognize that there may be unique communication needs, making the interaction safer and less stressful for everyone involved.

📂 Inside the Blue Envelope, you can store:
🪪 A copy of your driver’s license
🚗 Vehicle registration
🛡️ Proof of insurance
📝 Communication preferences or helpful accommodations
📞 Emergency contact or support person information

✅ No registration.
✅ No application.
✅ No cost.
