🇺🇸 Armed Forces Day in Payson 🇺🇸

At sunrise, the Rim Country Marines Flag Posting Teams were already at work, placing American flags across town. At sunset, each flag will be respectfully retired with honors.

For a small donation, we post and retire flags on these holidays:

ATTENTION ALL VETERANS: SATURDAY MAY 9TH, 2026
Mark your calendar for a relaxed, family-friendly afternoon honoring those who served at the beautiful Pleasant Valley Veterans Retreat in Young, Arizona.

📍 Location: Pleasant Valley Veterans Retreat, Young, AZ
🕚 Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Lunch at 12:00 PM
🎖️ Free for all veterans and spouses

Lunch will be served at noon, and the afternoon will be filled with activities for all ages. Enjoy classic yard games like horseshoes and co****le, roping dummy, water toss, and let the kids burn off energy in the bounce house. Two live bands will provide music throughout the day.

Welcome aboard, Bob Porstman 🇺🇸

At our latest meeting, we had the honor of swearing in our newest Associate Member, Bob Porstman, who served in the United States Navy from 1963–1967 as a Fire Control Technician aboard the USS Boston (CA-69).

We are proud to have Bob join the Rim Country Marines family and grateful for his years of service to our country.

Today’s lunch service at the Payson Senior Center began with something extra special, as Junior Vice Commandant Mel Sheridan presented Roxie Farley with a commemorative Rim Country Marines polo shirt in honor of her 87th birthday!

Roxie is family to us. Her father, four brothers, and several nephews are all Marines, and today we had the privilege of honoring her before serving lunch to the seniors we look forward to seeing every Wednesday.

The Rim Country Marines were back at the Payson Senior Center this week helping serve lunch to local seniors. 🇺🇸🍽️

Every Wednesday, our members volunteer their time to support this important community program, sharing a meal and good conversation with many of Rim Country’s seniors and veterans. It’s one of the many ways we continue serving our community.

Former Commandant Bobby Davis was formally awarded the Marine Corps League Distinguished Citizen Bronze Medal today by Rim Country Detachment 928. 🇺🇸

Bobby was recognized for years of dedicated leadership and community service, including serving as Mayor of Star Valley, Commandant of our Detachment, Board Member of the Payson Senior Center and MHA Foundation, and active member of the Kiwanis Club, Elks Lodge, and Moose Lodge. He has also played a key role in our Patriotic Flag Program, 4th of July Flag Salute, and lunch service at the senior center

In addition to the Bronze Medal, he was awarded the Community Service Ribbon for his continued commitment to veterans and the Rim Country community.

Congratulations to Marine Davis, well deserved.
