Today, Chief Jay Parrish was named as the GACP Outstanding Police Chief of the Year. Chief Parrish began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer in 2000. He moved through the ranks and was named as the Chief of Police in 2019. As chief he has led the department to produce exceptional results while maintaining community trust.

He is respected not because he seeks attention, but because he consistently does the work. He supports his officers, develops leaders, embraces innovation, and never loses sight of the people behind the badge or the people in the community.
