🎢🌎 When Fine Arts and Foreign Language come together, great learning happens!

Ms. Irons’ ESL students recently teamed up with the Junior High Boys Choir as they prepare music for All-Region Choir auditions coming up in October. One of the choir’s pieces features Spanish text, so the ESL students stepped in to help teach the singers the correct Spanish pronunciation! 🎡

What a great example of students sharing their knowledge, learning from one another, and collaborating across classrooms! πŸΊβ€οΈπŸ’›

🎢🐺 THE POWER BAND IS BACK! πŸ₯πŸŽΊ

The music. The movement. The precision. It doesn’t just happen when the lights come on β€” it starts with hours of preparation, repetition, and teamwork.

We caught up with members of the Lake Hamilton High School Power Band of Arkansas as they prepare for another exciting marching season! From bringing the energy on Friday nights to taking the field in competition, these students are putting in the work to continue an incredible tradition of excellence.

πŸ† And they’re entering this season as BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPIONS!

Three straight state championships have set the standard. Now, one note, one step, and one rehearsal at a time, the Power Band of Arkansas is ready to write its next chapter! πŸŽΆπŸ’›πŸΊ

πŸ¦ŽπŸ“š B. Bailey’s 4th-grade students worked with partners to complete five different learning stations based on the book Creature Features. At each station, students read about a different animal and then put their science skills to work by sorting the steps of how that animal receives and processes information. 🧠🐾

πŸ”€πŸΊ Building stronger readers and writers one word at a time!

Mrs. Davis’ students used word chains to practice reading and writing one-syllable words with short vowel sounds. By changing, adding, or taking away just one letter or sound, students discovered how quickly one word can become another! ✏️

And practicing on whiteboards makes learning even more fun! β€οΈπŸ’›
