⏳⚓🧭 The Battle of Midway (June 3–7, 1942) is widely known as the most decisive engagement in modern naval warfare.
Deep in the historic Building 1 of Pearl Harbor, Station Hypo (an elite unit of cryptologists and linguists) broke the Japanese code in May 1942, unveiling an imminent plan of attack in the Pacific.
With USS Yorktown (CV 5) en route to Pearl Harbor Navy Yard needing urgent repairs, our workforce jumped into action. Thanks to their round-the-clock efforts, the carrier was and rejoined the fleet out at sea. In June, our U.S. Navy shipyard's hard work went on to directly support the war efforts in this historic clash.
Though the "Fighting Lady" was eventually lost during the , fondly remembers her and how our legacy of grit was underscored, the was there when our nation needed it most.
