Navy Region Hawaii CSADD

Navy Region Hawaii CSADD Navy Region Hawaii Main Chapter Regional Team Leader: MAC Jeremy Harborth
This page is intended to p Of course not...absolutely not. Hoo-yah Shipmates!!!

-CSADD is what you make it...it is in our actions, in how we conduct ourselves in and out of uniform...we don't sport a CSADD uniform per say-CSADD is a vehicle, a tool, a resource to use, that we operate under to deter decisions that could potentially lead down the wrong path...whether it be DV, SAPR, CMEO, DUI, whichever, CSADD is a means in which to deter that-through education (not death by Po

werPoint!!!), discussions, BBQs, sporting events, competitions, etc...something in which to deter these destructive decisions, and if anything at all, offer our fellow sailors an expanded view of what all to do besides the typical bars, clubs, etc... Now, does that mean we do not drink, have a good time? We do encourage, as does the Keep What You Earned Campaign, that if you are going to drink, do it responsibly. Intercede before an issue becomes a problem.

-CSADD enables the environment to socialize with people, positive people who are about having fun, enjoying the duty station we are in and the surroundings. I receive many questions and comments about how sailors don't necessarily want to go out with people at their commands. Totally respectable...CSADD offers the opportunity to open up the forum to socialize with people who have similar interests, regardless of command affiliation. CSADD happens at every level. Junior sailor driven, Senior leadership supported always. CSADD happens when I see a sailor getting harassed out in town, or I see a sailor heading down the wrong path I intervene, support, find out how I can be of help. I charge each of you to continue to do the same. Seek to work through you respective MWR, your CPOs, your FCPOAs and your White Hat Associations and Junior Sailor Associations to function in parallel for support, of each other. Hold events, discussion forums, head up a stand down, and have the Chief's Mess cook, discuss issues, and discuss best practices, solutions...and in some cases, have a BBQ, a sporting event, a beach outing-just because. Obviously coordinate via your Chains of Command first!!! Then lastly, communicate what your doing...this is definitely something we want to spread to people. In an environment where we are working hard to stop the spread of SAPR incidents, DUIs, Domestic Violence, Hate Crimes...let's spread CSADD to all!!! If and when you do have events, broadcast it out to all the chapters, either as an FYI or an invite, to volunteer, join in, etc...and let myself and your Region Advocate know so we can document and route up to not just our Commander, RDML Williams and Region CMDCM Ullery , but also at and to the CNIC Level!!!

***CSADD IS NOT A PROGRAM OF RECORD-it is important we all are aware and cognizant of this…the key to a successful CSADD Chapter is the ability of the members, namely the Advocate and Sponsor to use innovative means in which to support-as mentioned above, leverage already established resources and programs to support. CSADD has no funding, however, it’s success lies, again, in the innovation that we as sailors already use in accomplishing the mission we are charged with at any given time. At the end of the day, CSADD is what we make of it. As your Region CSADD Team Lead, I am here to support, answer questions, consolidate your great work and brief the very eager Senior Leadership of how CSADD is working and where it could use improvement. Te rest is up to you to inject the mind set, the environment of positive influences while on and off duty, to enjoy, discuss, partake of our surroundings-safely, and with good premises always.
