The Covington Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in locating Riley Jones, a 15-year-old juvenile who has been reported as a runaway.

The juvenile is described as a white female with faded purple/pink hair and green eyes, approximately 5'6" and 135 pounds. She was last seen on August 9, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m. near W 25th Avenue.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Andrew Llewellyn at 985-892-8500 ext. 686 or by email at [email protected]. If you see her, please contact law enforcement immediately.

Update: 4:15pm: A1 Wrecker is clearing the second vehicle from the roadway, traffic should be moving shortly. Our units are clearing the scene.

Our units are currently on scene of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 41 Spur near Maple St. Highway 41 Spur is completely blocked, please find an alternate route. Two patients were transported to a local hospital as a precaution. Please avoid the area while crews work to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow. The situation is under control.

On August 2, 2026, the Pearl River Police Department executed a search warrant and arrest warrant at a residence in Pearl River.

Bradley Williams, 39, of Pearl River, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for Domestic Abuse Battery and Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation.

During the ex*****on of the search warrant, officers recovered suspected Schedule II narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. As a result of the evidence recovered, Williams was additionally charged with:

β€’ Illegal Carrying of a Weapon While in Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
β€’ Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
β€’ Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The officers of the Pearl River Police Department had an amazing time at the End of Summer Fest! It was a pleasure meeting so many wonderful families and spending the day with everyone who stopped by to visit.

Our Special Response Team (SRT) was proud to bring the MRAP, and it was great to see so many kids excited to climb inside, explore it up close, and learn more about the equipment we use to help keep our communities safe. πŸš“πŸ‘§πŸ‘¦

Events like these are a wonderful reminder of how important it is to connect with the people we serve. From smiles and conversations to photos and laughs, we truly enjoyed every moment and appreciate everyone who came out to make the day so special. 🀝❀️

The Pearl River Police Department is proud to announce the successful outcome of a collaborative narcotics investigation that led to the arrest of an individual believed to be responsible for distributing illegal drugs connected to a recent suspected overdose death in Pearl River, which was investigated by Pearl River Police Detectives.

Following the overdose investigation, detectives worked alongside local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to identify and trace the source of the suspected narcotics. Through coordinated investigative efforts, authorities were able to locate and arrest the suspect in New Orleans.

This investigation was a joint effort involving the Pearl River Police Department, the 22nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office Opioid Initiative, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Fentanyl Overdose Response Team (DEA FORT), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Slidell Police Department, and the Louisiana State Police.

Chief Jack Sessions praised the teamwork that made the arrest possible.

Although the anniversary has passed, our memories of Captain Gaudet and his sacrifice remain as strong as ever.

His courage, dedication, and selfless service to the Town of Pearl River will never be forgotten. His legacy continues to live on through the men and women of the Pearl River Police Department and the community he proudly served.

We continue to honor his life, remember his sacrifice, and keep his family, friends, and fellow officers in our thoughts and prayers.
