🔥 Fireplace Safety Reminder 🔥

Last night, just after 10:30 p.m., CAL FIRE firefighters responded to a report of smoke inside a residence, with smoke detectors actively sounding. Crews quickly located the source of the smoke—a damaged fireplace flue pipe—and were able to mitigate the hazard before it escalated.

This incident serves as an important reminder: fireplaces and chimneys should be regularly cleaned and inspected to ensure they are safe to operate, especially during the colder months. Working smoke detectors also play a critical role in early detection and keeping families safe.

Thank you to our partners for their assistance on this incident:

🤝 AMR
🤝 Pebble Beach Security
🤝 Monterey County Sheriff’s Department
