Today, we pause to honor the extraordinary courage of those who have received our nation’s highest award for valor, the Medal of Honor.
Since its establishment in 1861, more than 3,500 service members have been recognized for acts of bravery that go beyond comprehension. Each recipient embodies a legacy of sacrifice, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to their fellow service members and our nation.
On this National Medal of Honor Day, we reflect on the immense courage and steadfast character of these heroes. Their actions remind us of the true cost of freedom and the heights of human bravery.
We remain forever grateful for their example. Their selflessness will never be forgotten, and their legacy will continue to inspire all who serve.
Today, we honor the few, and remember the extraordinary.

Today, we pause to honor the U.S. Marine Corps who raised the flag on Iwo Jima on February 23, 1945, during the fierce battle of Battle of Iwo Jima. On the summit of Mount Suribachi, in the midst of one of the toughest and most grueling fights in the Pacific, those men raised the American flag, a powerful symbol of hope, determination, and victory. Their courage was forged in adversity. Their resolve was unbreakable. They fought not for recognition, but for one another and for the nation they served. As we honor them today, let us renew our own commitment to defend this nation with the same grit, sacrifice, and steadfast determination they demonstrated on that mountain. May we carry forward their legacy, standing firm in the face of challenge, united in purpose, and unwavering in our devotion to the ideals they fought to protect.

Semper Fidelis.

We honor the Marines who raised the flag on Iwo Jima on February 23, 1945.

Those men bravely fought through one of the toughest battles in the Pacific.

Their courage drives our commitment to defend this nation with the same grit, sacrifice and unbreakable resolve they showed on that mountain.
