And just like that, the 2026 Route 66 Children’s Fishing Derby has concluded! Thanks to our sponsors and volunteers, kids of all ages got outside to explore the Pecos Wilderness and fish New Mexico’s free fishing day.

The Village of Pecos Mayor, Board of Trustees and Staff would like to thank Apple Mountain Constuctors for the Water Line Project and clean up/seedlings on NM Highway 50 and surrounding areas. NM Department of Transportation for the cleanup of the sidewalks on NM Highway 63. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Upper Pecos Watershed Association, Magda, Janice Varela and all who contributed to the Pecos Clean up day on Saturday and helping to make our town look beautiful and clean again!
