During its Special City Council Meeting on August 6, 2026, the Pecos City Council appointed Nicole Alderete-Ferrini to serve as Interim City Manager for the Town of Pecos City, effective immediately. The appointment follows the City Council’s action to terminate the employment of the former City Manager.

Nicole Alderete-Ferrini currently serves as Assistant City Manager for the Town of Pecos City and has held this role for approximately six months. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning municipal government and the private sector. Throughout her career, Alderete-Ferrini has held senior leadership positions focused on city operations, housing, federal and state funding management, strategic planning, community development, and public engagement. Prior to her public service career, she spent 12 years in the private sector managing projects in design, planning, and community development from concept through implementation.

“I appreciate Council’s confidence in me and recognize this is a significant moment for the organization. My focus is simple: support our staff, maintain continuity of operations, uphold lawful and transparent governance, and continue serving the residents of Pecos. There will be time for larger conversations. Right now, my responsibility is to provide steady leadership and ensure effective execution,” said Interim City Manager Nicole Alderete-Ferrini.

As Interim City Manager, Alderete-Ferrini will oversee daily City operations, provide leadership to City departments, and work alongside City staff to support the continued delivery of municipal services and the advancement of ongoing projects and initiatives.

Residents can expect City operations, ongoing projects, and essential services to continue without interruption. The City Council will begin discussions regarding the process for appointing a City Manager and will provide updates to the public as additional information becomes available.

The Town of Pecos City remains committed to transparency, open communication, and keeping residents informed throughout the City Manager selection process.

Water System Improvement Notice: Contractors will begin a water tie-in for the new Crockett Middle School water line at 9:00 AM today.

A water tie-in is the process of connecting a newly installed water line to the existing public water system. This work is necessary to place the new infrastructure into service.

Residents from West Normandy Street to Crockett Middle School, and from Nebraska Street to South Missouri Street, may experience low water pressure for approximately 2 hours while the work is being completed.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this important infrastructure improvement is completed. We will provide additional information if needed.
