Big news from our friends at the communication center!
π’ BIG NEWS FOR ADAMS COUNTY! π’
The Adams County Communications Center is officially LIVE with NGA Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1)! π
We are proud to be the FIRST 9-1-1 center in the State of Ohio to go live with NGAβs Next Generation 9-1-1 technology.
So, what does that mean for our community?
NG9-1-1 brings newer, more advanced technology into our Communications Center and gives us a stronger foundation for how the public connects with 9-1-1, now and into the future.
π± AND HERE'S THE BIG NEWS, TEXT-TO-911 IS AVAILABLE NOW!
If you are in an emergency and cannot safely make a voice call, you can text 9-1-1.
π± TEXT if you canβt call.
π CALL if you can.
Calling 9-1-1 is still the best option when you are able to speak with a dispatcher. Texting is especially important when making a voice call may be unsafe or impossible.
And we're not finished yet!
π¨ COMING SOON, REAL-TIME TEXT (RTT)!
Adams County Communications Center is preparing to become the FIRST 9-1-1 center in Ohio to offer Real-Time Text with 9-1-1.
RTT is different from a normal text message. Instead of typing a complete message and pressing send, RTT allows the dispatcher to receive the text as it is being typed. That means communication can happen more like a live conversation when every second matters.
We are excited about what this technology means for Adams County and proud to continue moving our 9-1-1 system forward.
New technology. Stronger connections. Safer community.
π Same commitment, being here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when it matters most.
