Thank you to Frank Goderre for more history of the neighborhood!

July 1954 - Slum clearance on Main Street for the Peekskill Housing Authority in preparation for the construction of Bohlmann Towers.

This is the old Chapman homestead (address 807 Main Street - the same address as Bohlmann Towers) - the house was built in 1790 on Main Street in the Town of Cortlandt (Peekskill not designated a Village until 1816) and when purchased by private owners it was already 150 years old. This series of photos shows the house being moved to Garrison on the Old Albany Post Road by the Peekskill Seaplane Base out of Verplanck.

The next photos are of the house after it was moved and completed by the new owners.
