Another successful Law Enforcement Torch Run is in the books!πŸ’ͺ🏽 This year, hits differently as it marks the 40th anniversary of what has become a tradition. The run raises awareness and funds for Special Olympics athletes and their families and as always, we are beyond proud to participate. Today, the nation kicks off 2026 National Police Week, honoring 363 newly added officers to the Memorial. As these festivities commence, we'd like to take a moment to honor one of our own, Peekskill Police Detective Charles β€œCharlie” Wassil, E.O.W. 05/01/2013. On this date, we lost our brother in blue, also a former Marine, due to illness which he contracted while assisting with recovery efforts following the 9/11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center. Continue to rest peacefully brother and thank you for your sacrifice. πŸ’™
