We are a group who supports Ron Paul, his ideas, and beliefs. We pledge to continue his message throughout the election and the years to follow. *Reminder - Presidential candidate RON PAUL will be holding a "Town Hall" meeting open to the public this Wednesday, March 14 @ 7pm at the UofI in Champaign-Urbana. Location has been changed to Huff Hall as the first place could not accommodate the HUGE influx of early registration! Huff Hall holds 4,500 people...we're already over 2,000 registered...please help spread the word to reach the max!*

Imagine a World Without Free Knowledge

For over a decade, we have spent millions of hours building the largest encyclopedia in human history. Right now, the U.S. Congress is considering legislation that could fatally damage the free and open Internet. For 24 hours, to raise awareness, we are blacking out Wikipedia.

Call your elected officials.
Tell them you are their constituent, and you oppose SOPA and P**A.

Why?
SOPA and P**A would put the burden on website owners to police user-contributed material and call for the unnecessary blocking of entire sites. Small sites won't have sufficient resources to defend themselves. Big media companies may seek to cut off funding sources for their foreign competitors, even if copyright isn't being infringed. Foreign sites will be blacklisted, which means they won't show up in major search engines. SOPA and P**A would build a framework for future restrictions and suppression.

In a world in which politicians regulate the Internet based on the influence of big money, Wikipedia — and sites like it — cannot survive.

Congress says it's trying to protect the rights of copyright owners, but the "cure" that SOPA and P**A represent is worse than the disease. SOPA and P**A are not the answer: they would fatally damage the free and open Internet.
