We are in a leve 3 threat for severe weather today. Please have a plan in place.

The latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center maintains a Level 3 Risk for severe storms on Thursday across central Illinois, though the outlook was shifted a bit further south.

Severe storms will be possible between 4 pm and midnight on Thursday with hail and damaging winds being the primary threat. The tornado threat will be highest through about 7 pm with a hail, wind, and localized flood threat persisting afterwards. The hail that occurs Thursday afternoon and evening could be quite large, potentially exceeding 2.0" in diameter in the strongest storms. As storms form into lines, damaging wind gusts up to 75 mph would be the primary concern.

Rainfall amounts will be highly variable. but most will likely see 0.50" to 1.00" of rain. Localized amounts of 2.00" to 3.00" are possible where training storms occur.
