Welcome to the Pekin Police Department, Officer Bryce Bell!

Please join us in welcoming Bryce Bell, who was officially sworn in as our newest Officer with the Pekin Police Department!

Bryce will begin the 16- week Police Training Institute (PTI) Academy, followed by an extensive Field Training Officer (FTO) Program, where he'll work alongside experienced officers before serving our community on solo patrol.

We wish Bryce the very best as he begins this exciting journey in law enforcement. Congratulations, and welcome to the Pekin Police Department family!

Swatting Call at Pekin High School

From 08/24/26

Due to a threat received regarding a potential bomb and weapon in the building, PCHS was put on lockdown.

In collaboration with the Pekin Police Dept, the building was immediately secured and steps were taken to ensure the building, students and staff were safe. Based on the investigation that ensued we believe that this threat is a result of swatting, which indicates that this is not a viable threat to our school community.

As such, the school will be lifting the lockdown and the day will proceed as usual.

However, we will continue to have an increase of police presence for the remainder of the day out of extreme precaution.

Join Us for the 2026 Texas Roadhouse Tip-A-Cop!

Mark your calendars for Monday, August 24th and help support an incredible cause!

The Pekin Police Department, along with our law enforcement partners, will be teaming up with Texas Roadhouse to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois through the Law Enforcement Torch Run Tip-A-Cop fundraiser.

While you enjoy a great meal, officers will be serving guests, greeting tables, and collecting donations to help provide year-round sports training and competition opportunities for Special Olympics Illinois athletes. Every donation helps change lives.

One More Event to Close Out Cops for Kids 2026!

Summer may be winding down, but it's not over yet! Join the Pekin Police Department for our final Cops for Kids event of Summer 2026 this Friday, August 7th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the 4-H Buildings in Mineral Springs Park.

Bring the kids out for a fun-filled afternoon featuring:
🌭 Free hot dogs fresh off the grill
🏰 Inflatables for the kids
🚔 Emergency vehicles to explore
🐕 Meet one of our K-9 teams
👮 Spend time with your Pekin Police officers and other first responders

This has been an incredible summer, and we want to thank everyone who has joined us throughout our Cops for Kids events. Let's wrap up the season together with a day full of fun, food, and community!
