Pekin Salvation Army 360 Life Center

Pekin Salvation Army 360 Life Center Our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discr Harold J. The Harold J.

The Salvation Army - Pekin 360 Life Center is able to provide our unique opportunities through the generosity of our local donors. More than 50 percent of our financial support is provided by private donors from throughout Tazewell County. With $0.96 of every one of those dollars given going directly back to Tazewell County, The Salvation Army maintains a standard of serving transparently and with

out discrimination. We run forward in “Doing the Most Good” in the most need, and you can be a part of this incredible adventure! Rust Transitional Center:

The Salvation Army's work in Tazewell County includes the Harold J. Rust Transitional Center, a shelter for families, single men, and women working towards productive independence. Each night we provide shelter to an average of 35 individuals. This facility allows us to provide much needed shelter, meals and case management services designed to help the adult identify and work on the underlying causes of their homelessness. Rust Transitional Center is located at 235 Derby Street in Pekin. If you would like more information, please call (309) 478-7878. Emergency Services:

Each year, we help our neighbors throughout Tazewell County with basic needs such as food, clothing, rent, utilities, car repairs, gasoline, bus tickets, public transportations, shelter and much more. Each month, we provide emergency assistance to an average of 500 individuals. To speak with a case worker, please call (309) 346-3010. Red Kettle Campaign:

The "miracle" of Christmas is repeated over and over again through the joy of caring and sharing. The traditional red kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions of dollars donated each year to aid needy families, seniors, and the homeless, in keeping with the spirit of the season. Donations provide Christmas dinners, clothing, and toys for families in need. Financial assistance also helps with basic necessities, along with seasonal aid. Families of prisoners often are included. Volunteers distribute gifts to shut-ins in hospitals and nursing homes, and shelters are open for sit-down dinners. The Salvation Army endeavors to bring spiritual light and love to those it serves at Christmas so that the real meaning of the season is not forgotten. Many families receive aid over a period of months after the Christmas season as well, people struggling with difficult family, emotional, or employment problems. To find out more about how to get involved with this integral opportunity, keep tuned in to our Facebook feed and visit our website at www.sapekin.org! Volunteering:

From its inception, The Salvation Army has relied heavily on volunteers who support its programs. Volunteers are valuable assets in The Salvation Army's efforts to meet the changing needs of our world. Through the skills and experience they bring to The Army, volunteers make significant contributions to society by positively impacting the lives of those they assist. Our Story

“My life was broken from the outside-in,” Charity said. “I lost my family, my dog, my clothes... I had nothing. But The Salvation Army helped me get back so much of what I lost.”

Charity’s story is a common narrative we hear throughout Tazewell County; so often our neighbors are shoved to the ground by circumstances beyond their control and are left without the resources and relationships needed to pick themselves up off the ground and run towards a healthy future.

For over 125 years, The Salvation Army has stood hand-in-hand with the neighborhoods of Tazewell County to build a healthy future for every person who calls these beautiful cities their home. We pledge to serve you with the love of Jesus Christ, the love which doesn’t judge or discriminate. The Salvation Army is here for you wherever, whenever there is a need.

Let’s keep Doing the Most Good together.
