Have you changed your smoke detector batteries?
Does your family have an escape route/plan in case of a fire or emergency?

🔥 WILDFIRE WARNING: HIGH RISK on Monday, MS!

We are urging all Mississippians to voluntarily stop all plans of outdoor burning on Monday due to conditions that are highly favorable for rapid wildfire spread. Low humidity and high winds are the concern.

What to AVOID on Monday:
❌ Debris Burning
❌ Campfires, Bonfires, and Fire Pits
❌ Burning leaves or brush

9 out of 10 wildfires are caused by humans. Please do your part to protect our homes, forests, and firefighters. Wait until conditions improve.

FUNDRAISER HEADS UP....

Walters Vol Fire Dept will be selling raffle tickets in the next few weeks for some really nice prizes. The proceeds support the ongoing operations of the fire department. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks.
If you have a business and would like to donate a gift for our raffle, please reach out to us ( we will mention your business on our page). There will be several items which means several drawings.

We will have “Jaws of Life” extrication training tonight starting about 6:45 at Station 1 located at 125 Walters Rd. If you’ve never seen the equipment operated and would like to observe, feel free to come and watch. Special thanks to Busby’s Scrap & Salvage, LLC in Morton for furnishing a vehicle for the training.

Thanks to Pelahatchie VFD and Puckett VFD for the assistance with a chicken house fire. These men and women were out at 1 a.m. in the cold serving our community. Thanks for you willingness to answer the call.
