As the last phone calls are made, texts are sent and cards dropped at houses, I want to thank all those who have supported us, volunteered, opened your doors, and shared your stories, hopes and concerns about Pelham Manor. I am grateful.

What I thought might be the hardest part - knocking on doors - ended up being the most energizing. After a year of zooms and emails, I loved seeing people face to face. There is an amazing vibrancy in this community, and a real sense of optimism for the future.

Now, it’s time to vote and we are asking for your support. Please vote for Andrea, Lance and me. We will lead with a sense of purpose and urgency. Please vote on Tuesday at the Fire House 6a-9p, and more importantly, stay involved.

This is when my dancer side comes out to send a lighthearted laugh, kick, and thank you to my energizer-bunny running mates, Ramsey and Lance, to the dynamic team of Kate Pringle and Kara McLoughlin, Marin Zielinski, Debbie Winstead, Peter Drumsta, and all of the loving and supportive neighbors and friends who kept us going, shared their enormous range of talents, expertise, and energy, as well as their hopes and their dreams. No matter what, we are all in this community — and life — together.

Great couple of days of canvassing in the final days of our campaign to bring Pelham Manor forward! Now, it's time to vote and make this a historic election! Make your plan!!!

--Take your kids to show them democracy when you vote! The fire trucks will be out on the street all day.
--Vote in the morning, then get breakfast or coffee at Flour Power or Dunkin!
--Vote at lunch, then grab a Lenny's Manor sandwich!
--Vote in the afternoon, then buy a bottle of champagne @ French Wine Shop!
--Vote early evening, then hit Manor Market for beer on St Patrick's Day!

Tuesday, March 16, Fire House @ 4 Penfield Place, 6a-9p. If you're voting absentee, the instructions on the ballot are incorrect and the village must received the ballot by Tuesday.

Can you help us get out the vote in Pelham Manor? There are so many ways to get involved. Here are a few:
PHONE BANK TONIGHT and every night (or day) - it's easy, you can do it for a few minutes or a few hours, and it makes a huge difference. Just email me at [email protected], or [email protected] and I will respond with the link, which has everything you need. We also have zoom meetings every evening from 6-7:45 for camaraderie and support for phone bankers, so join the party!
RALLY TOMORROW morning at 11 am with a short gathering at Ramsey McGrory's front yard, 619 Esplanade. Come join us for coffee and a doughnut, say hello to special guest Alessandra Biaggi (she couldn't come last week but be there tomorrow), and get excited for our final GOTV efforts. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate this campaign, and we will also have canvassing lists if you want to head out from there to talk to voters.
ZOOM CALL ON SUNDAY 4-5 pm. Invite friends to join our final zoom call. These have been a great way to talk about the issues, so come join the conversation, and please invite people who might be uncertain about their vote! Zoom Link:

JOIN OUR REMINDER DROP ON MONDAY AFTERNOON
Monday afternoon we will fan out across Pelham Manor to drop reminders at our supporters' homes. This will be a big effort, but if a lot of us can come out it will be an easy lift for each person. Meet at Kara's house, 511 Manor Lane, any time after 2 pm to pick up a short list of homes. Bring your kids, or send your teens!

Anyone missing an Absentee Ballot? If you requested an absentee ballot but haven't yet received it, call Village Hall (914-738-8820) or go in and pick it up. Remember that completed ballots must be RECEIVED by Tuesday. So it is too late to mail back completed ballots, you must deliver them BY HAND TO VILLAGE HALL (4 Penfield Pl.) or ask someone to do that for you. We recently visited the Scardale site where the village manages their Food Scraps recycling program. Scarsdale implemented this program in 2017 to empowers residents to separate out compostable materials from trash. It's now been implemented by the majority of villages in Westchester, and is having a real impact.

By doing this, communities avoid incinerating food and recyclables (which are often dense in water) with plastics. It reduces the energy needed to incinerate and reduces the waste that must be hauled and buried in landfills. It also produces high quality compost which is good for communities. A community like Pelham Manor will likely generate 1 ton of food waste a week initially, so this will make a difference!

VoPM announced they will adopt Food Scraps. If elected, we will fully implement the Food Scraps program and evaluate other no cost and low cost programs with a sense of purpose and urgency to make our community a better place.
