As we move through the final design phase, Pelham Manor's contractors are out on Monroe Street digging test pits to verify field conditions. From here, the project's design will be finalized and bid specifications will be prepared. The required public bidding process will commence in July, and project implementation will follow. We are pleased to confirm that design will include removing the long strip of surface grates along Grant Avenue and creating an underground extension of the conveyance system.

As this project progresses, we will continue to communicate updates. Those residents that live within the project boundaries will receive a letter regarding specific information they will need to be aware of. This project has been partially funded through the Climate Smart Communities grant program provided by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Residents are advised we received notification from Veolia they will be conducting hydrant flushing throughout the Village of Pelham Manor through the end of this week, between the hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm. A temporary slight discoloration of the water and decrease in water pressure may be noted as a result of opening the hydrants. If you experience this discoloration of water, please run your cold water in a basement sink for 15-20 minutes. This should clear your problem. It is recommended to check your cold water for discoloration throughout this flushing period. If the water is discolored, please flush your line as mentioned above before attempting to do any laundry. Veolia crews have company identification cards for your security.

If you have any questions, please contact Veolia directly. A list of the affected areas can be viewed here:

On this day many years ago, the D-Day operation brought together the land, air, and sea forces of the allied armies in what became known as the largest amphibious invasion in military history. This international effort required military leadership to overcome political, cultural, and personal tensions. By 1944, over 2 million troops from over 12 countries were in Britain in preparation for the invasion. This monumental day in history was only one piece of the entire Normandy campaign. While D-Day did not bring an end to the war in Europe, it did begin the process through which victory was eventually achieved. Visit the article provided by the Eisenhower Library to read more details on the D-Day operation of June 6, 1944: https://www.eisenhowerlibrary.gov/research/online-documents/world-war-ii-d-day-invasion-normandy

Thank you to all members of the armed services for their service to our country.

Beginning on Saturday, June 6, 2026, residents of Pelham Manor can schedule free home pickup of textiles. The Village of Pelham Manor has partnered with Helpsy, a certified B Corp, to provide at-home clothing recycling to residents. It saves the town money, you time, and the planet's resources. Recycling your clothes with Helpsy’s Home Pickup service is free and couldn’t be easier. Just sign up at www.helpsy.com/pelhammanorny, bag up your unwanted clothes, and Helpsy picks up from your front steps on collection day. Helpsy’s only ask is that items are clean, dry, and odorless by the time they get to your front steps. You can keep them that way by putting your recycling in a closed plastic bag, you can reuse ones you’ve got lying around the house!

Recently, one of our capital purchases arrived, the Catch Basin Cleaner. This piece of machinery supports our stormwater management program as it is a great tool to clean our stormwater collection points on a regular basis. The Village of Pelham Manor extends a special thank you to Assemblywoman Amy R. Paulin for providing funding for this purchase, and supporting our MS4 program!
