September has arrived, which means we’re heading into some of the BUSIEST and BEST months of the school year! 🐾 From fall pictures and the Book Fair to Goodies with Grands, Fall Break, Red Ribbon Week, and our Shiver Fall Festival—there is so much to look forward to!

🎉 Happy National Kinetic Sand Day—August 11! 🎉

From our littlest Pre-K sand sculptors to our 8th grade creators, Shiver students got to squish, mold, build, create, and RELAX with some kinetic sand fun! 🏖️🙌

After working hard in the classroom, sometimes the best break is one that gets your hands moving and your imagination going! 💙🐾

A BIG Shiver shout-out to Jon & Camille Bolton for generously donating all of the kinetic sand that made this fun day possible! We appreciate you helping us bring a little extra fun to our Bulldogs! 🫶

Because you’re never too old—or too little—to play with kinetic sand! 💙

🪿🌾 Golden Goose Award — Week 2! 🌾🪿

Goosey went FULL FARMER this week! 🚜From story time to thank-you notes to getting her wings dirty in the flower beds, she’s officially adding AG teacher to her résumé!

📚 She read The Day the Farmers Quit with 3rd grade and learned pretty quickly that life without farmers would be a BIG problem!

💌 She joined 4th & 5th grade as they wrote thank-you notes to the farmers who work hard to keep food on our tables.

🌱 And with our middle schoolers, Goosey got some hands-on ag experience helping redo the planters out front. Dirt under her feathers? Absolutely.

This week was all about learning where our food comes from, appreciating agriculture, and getting our hands a little dirty! 🌾🐄🌱🚜

Looks like Goosey is becoming one well-rounded farm bird! 🪿💙

🏆🪿 OUR FIRST GOLDEN GOOSE WINNER! 🪿🏆

Congratulations to Mrs. Allen’s 2nd Grade Class—the very first home of our Golden Goose! 💙🤍

And speaking of our goose… she officially has a name! Meet GOOSEY, a name suggested by none other than our Grady County Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Sandy Allen! 🥇🪿

But Mrs. Allen’s students got the final say! While learning how to collect data and represent it using tables and graphs, the class put their new math skills to work by voting on Goosey’s name and using the results as their data! 📊✏️🪿 Talk about making math meaningful AND fun!

Goosey had a BIG week in 2nd grade! When she wasn’t brushing up on her math skills, she spent plenty of time helping the kids learn 📚, playing on the playground 🛝☀️, and even got a visit from the big guy in charge himself—Mr. Jones! 👀😂

We’d say Goosey is settling into life at Shiver pretty nicely! 💙🐾

Thank you, Mrs. Allen and her sweet 2nd graders, for giving Goosey such a fun first official classroom visit!

Now the big question is…

👀 Where will Goosey waddle off to next? 🪿✨

🎥 BREAKING NEWS FROM SHIVER… 🪿💙

Well… we have a visitor.

This mysterious feathered friend was spotted wandering the halls today, peeking into classrooms, checking on teachers, and making sure the Bulldogs are off to a great start! 👀📚

So far, we’ve learned a few things:
🪿 Loves visiting classrooms.
🪿 Enjoys watching great teaching and learning.
🪿 Has absolutely no concept of personal space. 😂

The only problem? Our newest school celebrity doesn’t have a name yet!

We have a feeling this goose is going to become a familiar face around Shiver, so we’re thinking it’s only fair that YOU help make it official.

👀 Stay tuned… we’ll be asking our Shiver family to vote on the perfect name very soon!

Until then, if you spot our feathered friend around campus, don’t be surprised—he’s just making sure the Bulldogs are staying Driven to Succeed! 💙🐾

This incredible honor is a reflection of the countless lives she’s impacted through her dedication, kindness, and love for her students. We couldn’t be more proud to celebrate one of Shiver’s very best! ❤️🐾
