Busy prepping the wooded trails for winter snowshoeing and skiing. Trimmed down all the tree shoots (that get stuck in your snowshoes). Trimmed back the limbs that encroach, cut down/remove the trees that fall across the path, and I “filled in” a pit created when there was a regular two-track path (two tracks are roads created by driving a vehicle over an area a lot). This was by far the muddiest pit on the trail. You can see I tried my hand at corduroy, but I quit while I was ahead.

Perfect fall work time - 40s, rainy and everything is wet. That means no one is around and the deer hunters go in early.

It’s just satisfying to park on the lawn and hose down your ride…

Mowed the trails today. You can always tell where they were because the wildflowers pop up when the grass is mown. It’s always soo pretty and I sort of hate to mow them down. But when the grass gets high, you don’t see them. Wildflowers mark the trail.

The last pic is an area where I planted six trees in May. I placed reflective driveway markers 6”-10” to the North of each tree I planted so I could tell where they are. This is why.

Once again, a good day at OPIDUP.

Quick trip to Marquette to hike (Hog Back Mountain and Sugarloaf Mtn of Little Presque Isle) and buy a refrigerator, mow the yard and trails, and finally water the trees I planted last month. Busy and good weekend!

Bridge weekend. There are two bridges over ephemeral streams and now there are two bridges that have supports. Both the front and back bridges are “solid.” These supports take away the sway and bounce. These supports have added years to the life of these bridges.
