ARRESTS:

• On 05/18/26, a subject from Pella was charged with two counts of domestic abuse assault and one count of harassment 1st degree. The subject was incarcerated.
• On 05/20/26, a subject from Pella was charged with violation of a no contact order. The subject was transported to the Marion County Jail.
• On 05/21/26, a subject from Pella was charged with possession of marijuana-3rd offense, possession of a controlled substance-3rd or subsequent offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was released on bond.

WARRANTS:

• On 05/21/26, a subject from Oskaloosa was picked up on a Mahaska County arrest warrant for failure to appear. The subject was transported to the Mahaska County Jail.

Heads up! There’s a new format to an ongoing text message pretending to be from the DMV. These texts may claim things like:
-Suspension of your driver's license or vehicle registration
- Credit score hits
- Tollbooth fees

❌ DO NOT click on any links in these texts!
❌ DO NOT provide any personal info like your driver's license number, SSN, or credit card.

✅ The DMV will never ask for sensitive information via text or request payments through a random link.

If you get one of these texts:

Delete it immediately and hit the "report junk" option.

Stay alert and keep your info safe.

As we close out EMS Week, the members of the Pella Police Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the team at Pella Community Ambulance.

Thank you for always being there when our community needs you most. Whether responding alongside us on difficult calls, providing lifesaving care, or stepping in during moments of crisis, your dedication, compassion, and professionalism never go unnoticed.

Please help us wish Sergeant Bryce Doane a happy birthday! Sergeant Doane has been a police officer since 2014 and joined the Pella PD in 2020. Sgt. Doane is a fi****ms instructor, on the Peer Support Team, and a Field Training Officer; he manages the department website, is a member of the CIRT Team, and helps with many Community Policing initiatives throughout the department. Thank you for all you do, and we wish you a happy birthday, Sergeant Doane!
