Happy belated birthday to Critical Care Paramedic Adam Novak!

Adam has served Pella as an EMS provider in many ways since he started working here. He has worked as a full time paramedic, spent 1 1/2 years as a shift lead paramedic, and served as a lead instructor for our School of EMS. Adam recently started his new job at Dallas County EMS, and we are beyond grateful for his service here at Pella. Dallas County has gained an amazing paramedic! Thankfully, he is staying with Pella as a part time paramedic! At the station, Adam has a positive and humorous personality that lightens everyone’s day. He will also talk your ear off about professional soccer, healthy food habits (specifically his hatred for Red Dye 40), and his family.

We are thankful for all he has done and continues to do for PCA and our community. Thank you for your service, Adam, and we hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Happy birthday to Critical Care Paramedic Wyatt McClure!

Wyatt has been part time with us since 2023 and works full time at Ankeny Fire Department. Wyatt recently obtained his Critical Care Paramedic certification, adding another level of knowledge and skill to the care he provides our patients. When he’s not working, Wyatt can be found fishing, enjoying the outdoors, and camping. We are lucky to have his patient care, skills, and experience at PCA, along with his funny and sarcastic personality!

Happy birthday to Critical Care Paramedic Nick Aldrich!

Nick is one of Pella Ambulance’s full time paramedics and is also a shift lead supervisor for one of our four rotating shifts. Nick recently attended Hawkeye Community College and received his Critical Care Paramedic certification! Nick also helps with the skills portion of our EMS school, as well as training for continuing education. Nick serves in Jasper County part time and works as both Jasper’s rapid response EMS medic and a sheriff. Nick enjoys fishing, working out, spending time with his dog, and listening to EDM music. We are thankful for your service, Nick, and hope you have an awesome birthday!

Happy Birthday to Secure Car Driver Sharon Van Zee!

Sharon is one of our valued Secure Car Drivers who transports patients from Pella Regional to higher level psychiatric facilities. Many of these trips are a considerable distance away, so we truly appreciate every time Sharon is willing to give up her personal time to complete these transfers. This role takes compassion and a great deal of care, and Sharon has all of that and more. She is also incredibly talented at baking, and anyone who gets to experience her baking is truly blessed! Thank you, Sharon, for all you do for this service. We hope you have a wonderful birthday! 🎂🎊🎉

This past weekend, we gathered for our annual Pella Community Ambulance family picnic. It was a night filled with great food, fun memories and good conversation.

During the evening, we also recognized Paramedic Blake and CCP Adam as they begin the next chapter of their EMS careers with other departments. While it’s never easy to see great providers move on, it’s rewarding to know they’ll continue making a difference and serving new communities. Their love for EMS and care for others have left a lasting impact on our service, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the time they’ve spent with us. This isn’t a full goodbye! Blake and Adam will both continue serving with PCA on a part time basis, so we’ll still get to see them around the station.

Happy Birthday to EMT Sydney Van Arendonk!

Sydney works at Pella Community Ambulance as a part time EMT. She will soon be heading back to the University of Iowa, where she is pursuing her pre-med degree. Sydney has served the Pella community for over three years and shows exceptional care and kindness to every community member she comes in contact with. Around the station, Sydney is commonly found discussing and joking with others and is always wanting to learn more.

Happy Birthday to Paramedic Eli Hoksbergen!

Eli is a part-time paramedic at Pella Community Ambulance and is currently attending Dordt University on the pre med track, with plans to pursue his doctorate after graduation. Eli is a determined learner who earned his EMT certification in high school, obtained his paramedic certification during his first year of college, and is now working toward his Critical Care Paramedic certification through Hawkeye Community College. Although still early in his EMS career, Eli has a calm demeanor and is a compassionate provider. We are thankful for his dedication to our service and the Pella community.
