🚨 Snowstorm Operations Update 🚨
We ask that residents please continue to be patient and bear with our Public Works Department. This has been a prolonged storm, with 12.4 inches of snow recorded. This is not a quick event with a few inches of accumulation — it is a long-duration storm that requires multiple operational phases. There is also very limited space to push snow, which significantly slows the process.
Residents were asked in advance to move vehicles off the streets or park on the same side of the roadway to assist plowing operations. Unfortunately, this did not occur in many areas, which has made clearing streets more difficult and time consuming.
Our limited staff has been
working continuously throughout the storm, and they will remain out until conditions are fully addressed.
We’ve seen the comments on social media and want to provide some clarity on how snow operations work:
🚑 Emergency Access Comes First
Our first priority is always to ensure roads are passable for
Police, Fire, and EMS so emergency services can reach you when needed.
❄️ This Is a Long-Term Storm
Snow removal is not a single pass operation. Conditions change, accumulation continues, and crews must repeatedly adjust their work.
🚜 Multiple Passes Are Required
Plowing is a multi-stage process. Crews will continue clearing, cleaning up, and widening roadways until the job is complete.
We truly appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as our crews work to restore safe travel conditions. Please continue to use caution if you must be out on the roads.
