We love Summer Reading Program, but I will be honest with you...I think Book Buddies is the more important program.

Summer Reading Program is designed to encourage reading and create positive library experiences for children, but Book Buddies works to promote literacy and prevent the "Summer Slide" - the learning loss that occurs during the weeks of summer break.

I have heard so many favorable comments from parents over the years about the Book Buddies program. I have seen with my own eyes the joy in learning and the feeling of accomplishment from both buddies and tutors.

Also, our Book Buddies Coordinator Julianna Cajka is the best. She is.

THE SIGN-UP DEADLINE FOR BOOK BUDDIES (buddies and tutors) IS JUNE 15 2026!

Changing the sign.

As we prepare to welcome our new director, Rachel Eyermann, we'd like to recognize the contributions of those staff members who have kept the library going for the past 4 months.

Thank you to all who stepped up, especially our assistant director, Laura King, who has been interim director since the end of January. We so appreciate your taking on all the extra work. Thank you all for your community spirit and teamwork!

A reminder that the Friends of the Pemberville Library are hosting a meet and greet for our new director on Tuesday, June 2 between 3:00 and 7:00 pm. Please help us welcome her to the Eastwood Community!
